THERE ISNT REALLY A SIMPLER WAY TO PUT IT BUT KEEP DRAWING!!!!! like there really isnt a secret magic trick to it hehe…. the only way you can get better at something is by continually practicing it!! anatomy books help too if you like learning informatively!! for me while taking a foundation drawing class this semester, i can personally attest it has helped me IMMENSELY in my anatomy, proportion, and foreshortening work.. ive had to sort of relearn the things i missed when i didnt formally study anatomy when i had first began drawing.
these gesture sketches here are ones from the beginning of the semester. i used atari poses for reference. although atari can be good for foreshortening, it isnt really gestural as it doesnt reference from life.

BOTTOM LINE IS DRAW FROM LIFE!!!! my professor brought up a really good point to learn foundations so you can break the rules CORRECTLY and CONFIDENTLY when you want to use different styles!! kind of how like disney proportions are heavily exaggerated but when drawn in anatomical diagram they still WORK!! those animators studied from life immensely to be able to master it the way they do it!!
