I collected Bea on Friday. The drive to and from Nottingham included two accidents and various tailbacks. I was shattered by the end, but pleased to have her home. It then took me the weekend to recover, not helped by a bout of insomnia.
I've just finished the first season of Unforgettable. And... it was OK. I liked the central premise of using a perfect memory. The central character was fine, a bit too lucky, but OK. The minor characters were all really good (Mike, Roe, Nina and Joanne). The male lead was, well, not given particularly great lines. Also, the romance between the lead characters felt rather forced and, frankly forgettable. So I'll stick with it for another season, although I didn't much like how much was unresolved at the end of the first one.
It's been something of a tiring day. I did manage to get to the park this morning - a lot of dog walkers and dogs were out for their own muddy walks. Work... progressed. And I'm not ready to talk about January yet. I've been playing Chimera Squad this evening.
As mentioned in a post to Emma, yesterday: this little tree is about forty years old. The baubles are the same age. The tinsel is about half that age and the star only a few years old.
Today, rather later than usual, I put up the tree. The last few years I've added a new decoration or two each time. However, my favourites are still the polar bears.
We didn't have a free day at the weekend, so we're later with the tree this year than usual. It'll probably be Saturday now. I think the majority of other houses have theirs up based on the lights, although I've yet to have an evening walk this week.
