WHO: Rhade and Kozak
WHAT: Kozak acquired booze. Things went horribly awry. Or not. At least the unicorn won't be after Kozak anymore.
WHEN: Before thread with Dylan and after thread with Kozak and his unicorn harrassment
WHERE: Kozak's room.
WARNINGS & NOTES: That awkward morning after.
It had been a while since he woke up to the pleasant feeling of a warm body in the bed next to him. But the first thought that ran through his ragged, vaguely hurting mind? Was that these weren't his sheets. This pillow? Not the same texture to try and bury his hurting head into.
For a moment he thought he'd need a crowbar to pry his eyes open, they did not want to see the light. A clumsy smear of his hand down his face, and he somehow managed to face the world. Well... face the ceiling. Face the ceiling first, and then who it was that was cuddled against his shoulder, and then the world.
Wait. Kozak?
Kozak was a snuggler?
Did he move? Did he need to try and wake him up?
The phone in his coat started going off. That was a yes. Yes he would.

He groaned in pain when the shrill phone broke through his peaceful sleep; it was comparable to nails on a chalkboard for a normal person. He hadn't been drunk enough to have a hangover, and thank his lucky stars for that.
"I'm going to murder that device. Just chew it right in fucking half." He whined into Rhade's shoulder. But then the other began to move, and that was even worse. He was comfortable, dammit. Unable to reach the phone, he bit into Rhade's shoulder instead, just a tiny pinch of skin. A lovebite by comparison to the previous night.

Silence for a moment. For once, he didn't know what to say.
"So." He paused. "Good morning." A beat. "I mean, it is morning, right?"
no subject
...Alright. Yes, it wasn't all that bad.
He started getting dressed so he could make at least a presentable exit from the room when the time came. "That's what the phone said." Buttoning up his shirt, he came to sit at the end of the bed.
Wow... it was awkawrd when he couldn't think of anything to say, either. "I suppose you ran out of marginally abrasive comments to make in order to relieve the tension?" He flinched a smile. "I'm sorry it wasn't with someone you liked more." Like Xen.

So instead Kozak half-crawled, half-pulled himself to the edge of the bed, propped his chin in his hands and watched the show.
"Couldn't think of a one, actually," he replied honestly. He shifted to his side, paused, then scooted over until his head rested on Rhade's leg. No opportunity to hold him close would be wasted. "Can't think much of anything at this point. Kudos to you. And stop apologizing. If anything, I should be doing that, but I won't. It was... fun." Kozak bit his lower lip. "That's the understatement of the universe, actually."

He was also not expecting this man to be a biter and a clawer, either. Apparently you learned something new every day. Perhaps he should have seen that coming. He finally cracked a laugh because it was surreal.
"We'll have to do it again sometime." When he was healed. And perhaps had mitts and a muzzle. That thought he wasn't going to say out loud. Instead, he just... yes, he rubbed behind Kozac's ear.

"Yes, we-" That ended with a contented moan. The ear rub was incredibly distracting in a very good way. He titled his head up to get more of it. Were he part-cat instead of dog, he would be purring right now. "Mm. Definitely should. Give the gossiping grapevine something new to talk about for a change."

He was wondering about that possessive growl though. Had he...
No, probably not. That seemed unlikely.
"I think I'd like to give it another go."

A quick exhale of breath to the side and it disappeared off into his room, clattering against an opposite wall.
"Say it a third time and I may be tempted to keep you."
no subject
Strangely, he was almost flattered by that offer to keep him, and he almost wanted to warn him why that was a very bad idea. He had a picture in his office of the last gentleman that things had gone very wrong with (Rhade did not get over people well, especially ones he felt responsible for).
Despite the violence toward his clothing, he gathered him up in his arms, and gave him another kiss. "I have to go to work."

Even if he knew about the portrait, Kozak wouldn't care. That was the past, and he was Rhade's future. It was as simple as that. Practically a set decision in his mind. He wouldn't say as much, though.
"And I might even let you leave. But only if you promise to come back."

Except....
Well, he'd not expected that out of Kozak either. But he was a wolf, wasn't he? He squinted slightly as he asked, "Do I have a mate?" even though the smile was still lingering.
