A Day In The Haven't Done This In a While
Who: Sherlock Holmes Geneviève Vernet
What: A Day in the Life...in a dress
Where: Nearly Everywhere
When: All day!
Warnings: Fabulousness
{Holmes is out and about in a blue gown he's worn previously, with no purse, parasol, or big fancy hat because accessories are for amateurs. He's quite convincing, though he looks about ten years older (early fifties) as drag tends to do. The cracks in his act only start to show in a conversation. His height might be a little odd anywhere else, but as many women of the Barge are taller it doesn't stand out so much. His skirt is a little overly poofy, though not quite a full crinoline.Don't judge him this is for science.}
{OOC: Feel free to figure out that it's him, I just ask that there be at least a little dialogue exchange first—unless of course the character already knew, or was told.}

Re: {Late morning tea; Dinning Hall}
Good morning, ma'am.
{Early afternoon, Deck}
not that he does this often not at alldespite the lack of wind, he leans only a bit on the railing, not paying attention to any passers-by.}{Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon}
Re: {Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon}
He doesn't recognise her, but then again, everybody's new to him.]
Hello. Can I help you?
{Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon} - Sorry for the late; finally able to login
I...haven't had an occasion to come by here, and it seemed best that I know where the ward was located.
{If that sounds fishy, that's because it is. Though in honesty he really hasn't been here before.}
{Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon} - don't worry about it!
Well. [He tucks the clipboard under his arm and looks about.] I'm Doctor Watson, and I'd be happy to show you around, Miss...?
{Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon}
Geneviève Vernet, and I would be most pleased for it.
{It occurs to him suddenly, and horribly, that perhaps he's been told his grandmother's name as well. With so much in common, it's not at all implausible for their family histories to be alike. He's able to keep that mostly from his expression, save for the split second the thought occurred.}
{Peeking in the Infirmary; late afternoon}
Happy to meet you, Miss Vernet.
[She seems old-fashioned, this lady, so John offers her his elbow to take.]
Feel free to interrupt me if you have any questions.

{Art room, Early Evening}
It's lovely.
{Art room, Early Evening}
It might prove itself to be my best. Time will tell.
{His eyes do not stray from the canvas or his paints, even as he speaks.}
{Art room, Early Evening}
Why her? If I may ask.
{Art room, Early Evening}
In art one should challenge oneself—to paint a likeness as well as the feeling of the subject. A subject with whom the painter is familiar is quite key to this endeavour.
{Though it sounds fairly rote, as though this has been drilled into his mind by some strict and overbearing professor.}

{Anywhere else!}
