At Night
Re: At Night
He spotted Narvin by the fire and wandered behind him, and said, quite casually, "Scared of the dark, Narvin?"
He didn't think he actually was, otherwise he wouldn't have said it.
At Night
"Darkness is just an absence of photons. There's nothing dangerous about that. Some of the animals that come out at night, on the other hand..."
He glanced back at the jungle.
"I prefer the darkness of space, or even the vaults under the Capitol. Empty darkness or civilized darkness. I don't like wilderness."
Re: At Night
He looked around him, clearly and definitely calm, "I prefer my mine's darkness, but this is an improvement on the light, if you ask me."
At Night
Leaves shifted in the jungle. Narvin whipped his head around to look, but between the darkness and the thick foliage, he saw nothing. It could be the wind, or a fox, or a mouse, or a jaguar. He'd never know.
"Well, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself at least."
Re: At Night - can I borrow you on IM for ten minutes or so when you're free?

At Night - trololololo~ (sometimes i love these obscure things canon lets me do)
So the apes go quiet. And the birds go quiet. And the frogs stay loud, but they seem much further away. There's a brief commotion when an entire flock of aracari goes overhead, shrieking and beating their wings like all hell has broken loose. And if you look at what the bugs on the ground are doing, they all seem to be hauling ass in the same direction as the birds. To something. Or away from it.]
WAY TO TERRIFY NARVIN
He can abandon his fire and try to hide in the darkness, or he can stay where he is and hope that the flames are a deterrent. He decides to stay, if only so he can see what's coming well enough to fight it, if it comes to that. He scans the black jungle for movement with wide, frightened eyes.]
it is my favorite hobby
Psychically, of course, it'll ping as a perfectly normal human, which does dampen the suspense somewhat.]

Having fun, I assume?

Fun? If I wanted to deal with annoying primates I would have stayed on the ship.

[He grinned, looking down at Narvin.]
Besides, it's a vacation! They're supposed to be fun!
