Thinking about you when I close my eyes
Who: Ethan Lemaire(Abel), a little puppy named Foal, and OTA
When: catch-all for Ethan around the vessel
Where: Around, though lots of enclosure and deck action
What: Ethan may have asked Norton to assist him in getting a dog for his upcoming birthday. It was a short off ship venture, but now he is trying to socialize that dog to the best of his ability and being absolutely adorable with it.
Warnings: A serious young man allowing himself to be more vulnerable in public spaces, CUTE DOG WARNING
Ethan can be seen with a puppy with big paws, long awkward legs and a whip of a tail trailing along either at his side or bounding behind him all around the ship. He takes him for runs, though far shorter than the ones that he's used to in the morning before work, has him napping in his lap while he sits and reads in the gym after, and leaves a little earlier than usual to make sure Foal is getting his proper puppy energy drained before the end of the day.
He is mindful of the dog in places that dogs probably don't need to be, but his appearances in the dining hall, pool and library are far shorter than usual so as not to leave him to his own devices too long. Walks and runs on the deck sometimes bleed into the enclosure, trying to get him used to things that a puppy might be fearful of, water, loud noises, but really, he has never trained a dog before, so some advice and assistance would be welcomed.
Ethan's demeanor has certainly relaxed, more often than usual his serious expression bleeds into an open smile, and he doesn't even feel weird about talking to the clumsy animal with open affection. Socializing in his own cabin with Alex seems to be going fairly well, seeing as the cat spent the first six months of his life with dogs and other assorted animals under the care of the veterinary clinic, but he's careful to make sure they aren't left unsupervised together.
If he seems a little embarrassed upon introducing the dog by name, don't worry about it. Norton picked the name, and he's trying to pretend that he doesn't have two animals now loosely named after his boyfriends. He won't escape a knowing look from Fitz, but maybe he will from everyone else.

Gym
Aerith sat beside Ethan in the gym. Sure, she could go into a workout routine, or do some work at the Greenhouse, but she didn't. She didn't seem the energy for it- hadn't since the night she texted Ethan that she would be sleeping in her bed for the night.
At least she was acting a little more like herself. "Who's this cute little boy?"
She thought she saw him hiccup. It was adorable.
Re: Gym
He sets his book aside, something on dog training that he's attempting to process but finding that a lot of the rules seem far too strict, and saying no is difficult.
Foal stretches out his legs, a floppy little mess and rolls onto his back in Ethan's lap, having been napping for the better part of an hour, "This is Foal, and I swear, it was the hardest decision, picking him out of his siblings. I made the right choice though, sure of it."
Re: Gym
"I think you made a great choice." She leaned over, and made to gently rub Foal on the belly. "He's very cute."
Foal was...right. A baby horse. "How'd you come up with the name?"

It's during one of her breaks, she notices the pale-haired guy with a dog. Or... she thinks that's a dog? They aren't very common where she's from, so! Neat! She bends at the waist, leaning down to smile at the fascinating creature, and then... boop it. Right on the nose.
"Huh... weird creatures, all around!" That easily sounds like a compliment before she looks at the young man and adds, "It's a... dog, right?"
Re: deck
Ethan, holding a leash just in case, this puppy has no recall to speak of, nods, unfamiliar with the young woman, though he's trying his best not to be too protective against the unknown. "He's a dog, yes. Kind of a funny breed, Borzoi, but I like them. You should be careful though, he'll lick your face if you let him and doesn't understand 'no' yet."
no subject
"He looks a little similar to ones on Runeterra... though that amount of fluff makes me think a little more of a poro."
She personally wouldn't mind being licked so much, but it sounds like the guy's trying to teach the dog "manners". Her minds threatens to wander a bit as she's reminded of her childhood days, but she focuses on the very silly-looking creature, playfully tapping him with the side of her foot.
"I never really thought much about getting a pet. Felt a bit... risky, I guess, back home."
When it came to Singed, just existing around him was risky for any innocent creatures.

Deck
Mae, of course, doesn't react to the presence of a new puppy outwardly, but he does notice the tension in her before he spots the creature himself. And the person it's attached to. He puts Mae in a sit-stay and she happily plops her butt down to wait as Jacob gets closer.
"Whatcha got there?" he asks, his own demeanor casual.
Re: Deck
He hadn't noticed Jacob just yet, but he does when he addresses him, his head snapping up and slowing, the puppy's nose hitting his calf when he stops.
"I might have been inspired by your request for Mae. I've been thinking about it since that doomed cruise." Foal, having managed to recover from running his snoot into the wall of Ethan trots right up to Jacob and barks at him, tail wagging and ears lopsided, "this is Foal." He hopes he doesnt have to explain to Jacob that he wasnt responsible fir the name, but he will if he needed to.
Re: Deck
He has a treat palmed already and lets the pup sniff but not have.
"You started with a puppy?" he chuckles. This is a very different Jacob.

Still, he's a magnet for trouble, and that translates in his frilly, fancy outfit looking extremely appealing to a young puppy. All those bows and long shoelaces! Perfect for munching on.
Which will be likely what will happen as he gets closer curiously. Oh no......]
Is it yours?

Ethan, running after his dog, manages to block him in just before he can pull hard enough to get the teen on his ass. "Foal, no! Drop it." His tone is firm, but puppy has not yet learned no.

I guess that answers it. [Hello.]

"Hello. Who do you belong to?"
Re: Deck
Ethan isnt too far behind, having turned his back for just a moment and his dog was running towards the stranger halfway across the deck. Leash training was quickly rising in priority.
"Thats bad manners, what if he doesn't want you to lick his face?" he chides the pup gently, grabbing him around the middle and pulling him back enough to get him to sit his but down, "sorry Rawne, he's very enthusiastic."

They aren't completely pointless, for the same reason he's taken up occasionally lighting a cigarette in the evening.
"A new puppy?"
Unlike some types of vampires, that Armand is a vampire sets off no alarm bells for animals that might be of use. It makes sense to him: humans often don't hear them either.
Re: deck
He hasn't heard him speaking much, and the accent is hard to pick out, but it's there and Ethan likes it. "Yes! He's in the middle of obedience training, so I apologize if he-" Foal decides now is a good time to jump up and attempt to sniff and lick at Armand's hands.
"Foal," He'll offer an apologetic look and scoop him up, wiggling as he is, "Sorry."

"How's my best boy?" The smile turns mischievous. "I mean Foal, of course."

Kneeling to unclip Foal's leash, he encourages him forward, "go see Norton, Foal! He needs a kiss." To which the pup will look up at Ethan for just a moment before bounding clumsily up to his chair and attempt to get lots of pets and give lots of kisses.

The Deck
At the sight of Ethan and the puppy, the shepherd's tail begins to wag in excitement, but he keeps beside the leprechaun as Sweeney meanders over.
"He yers, or you just stretchin' him?" he asks casually with a bounce of his chin.
Re: The Deck
Taking a slower approach than he normally would he tries to get the pup to sit with his fist against his nose, a very reluctant sit happening after a few long seconds, being rewarded with a treat.
"He's mine. We're still learning though. Can he say hi?"

"The hell kind of dog is that?" she asks - and despite the borderline-harsh words, there's a little smile on her face. "He looks like a sheared sheep."

Her hand gets both sniffed and aggressively licked as if at any moment he will never be able to lick or sniff anything ever again. Gotta get it while he can. "Haven't you ever seen a sighthound? He's a Borzoi." Says Ethan, coming up after him with a lead in hand, his martingale collar attached to it.
"I dont think I've adjusted this properly...but I expect him to grow fast so I dont want to choke him"
