Welcome To My VINCENT Talk: Sex Ed. [Closed]
Who: Vincent Valentine, Kadaj, Yazoo, Aerith
Where: Vincent's Cabin
When: Beginning of January 2025
Warnings: Educational Sex Talk, Condoms/Safe Sex, Vague References to Hentai Magazines, Mentions of Non-consentual in an academic explanation
His cabin has doors that lead to other rooms; closed today. The main area transitions from a modest kitchen, a bar counter, to a furnished sitting area. The furnishings- a couple of chairs and a couch- all have the faded, well cared for look of antique furniture. Soft lamps run on power, though give the impression of oil lanterns of bygone times. The whole of it lends to the aesthetic of a mansion. During the day maybe a bit mysterious. At night perhaps a little haunting.
The kitchen matches that aesthetic, though there are several conventional, modern appliances in place. There's a washer and dryer tucked in a corner and some overhead lights that give the option for a brighter environment.
There are books on shelves, a few small trinkets. A statue that seems to be a shrouded figure encased in crystal. And a succulent that has thrived in Vincent's care.
At the end of the conversations, the gathering of materials needed, books that combine conventional texts with one or two less clinically sterilized. Vincent intends to eschew charts and visual aids in favor of... well, discussion.
The condoms aren't available yet. Aerith's running a bit behind picking up a few things. There will probably be no bananas. At least there's none in sight.
There's no snacks set out. The reason he didn't have much on hand is because he's been taking the time to stop by the kitchen and visit Sokie, grab a bite to eat; thus he hadn't kept stock at his place. Coffee and alcohol... no, he won't be putting those out. There's water but any other beverages will be based on what Yazoo and Kadaj decide to bring.
When knocking comes, Vincent will open the door and invite arrivals inside. The counter is where they'll be asked to drop off food, then nodded toward the main part of the room to settle. He's as quiet as ever for now.

Cabin Interior
His cabin has doors that lead to other rooms; closed today. The main area transitions from a modest kitchen, a bar counter, to a furnished sitting area. The furnishings- a couple of chairs and a couch- all have the faded, well cared for look of antique furniture. Soft lamps run on power, though give the impression of oil lanterns of bygone times.

"Do you think he will give us a good lecture or do we need pillows?" Lectures were boring, right?
no subject
"I don't think this one will be boring."
Not with how everyone was trying to wiggle out of giving it!
"It must be interesting. Tendi didn't want to talk about it and Angeal seemed reluctant."
So. Uncle Vincent to the rescue, right?
no subject
But he realized that there were very few scenarios he liked when thinking about where the two would go next for information. Which isn't the same as saying none, it's just... statistical probability of bad ends. Also, he has decided to adopt responsibility for the two Remnants after a fashion.
So here he is. The door is opened to let them in.
"Come inside." Point. "Place the snacks over there." Point. "Go sit over there."
Is he going to help with the handfuls of stuff? Well, no. He's still not that type of guy. But he does hold the door open and closes it after them; that's polite enough.
There will be one more thing he'll do as the two begin to transition from arrival to settling in.
"Hand me your communicators." There is a pause before he does dignify this with clarification. "...So there's no distractions while we talk."
Something something teens and their smart phones.
no subject
"It's not like I would record this," he mutters and helps Yazoo with laying out the snack spread. "There's all sorts of things like that in the Library. I was correcting the one. It's stupid."
no subject
"Why can't we record it?" he is just being oppositional for the hell of it, "Mm."
Fishing out his communicator, he hands it over and takes a seat, crossing his legs.
no subject
Don't worry. He's thinking ahead there. Taking away the communicators is more about the distraction they could be than the possibility of funny edits. Once the two devices are handed over, they're placed on a table in plain sight, but near the high back chair Vincent claims. There's already a steaming mug of something- coffee in this case- on a saucer nearby.
Yazoo might notice that the gift he left at the door earlier was no longer at the door. But there is something that looks suspiciously like the corner of the canvas tilted against the further end of the book shelf. Where is the note? Who can say. Some things are still mysteries.
"Correcting?" It's not that Vincent hasn't noticed the magazines that Kadaj has brought with him. Yet there hadn't been time. Maybe he'd been bracing himself to find out what materials the 'eldest' seeming of the Remnants had brought with him. Though while waiting for that answer, he pulls out his own communicator. Recording, after all, will happen.
no subject
His own body had a passing nod to how one should work even with the liming factors in place, but yet he found the magazines worse. He knew his body was odd, but that was how he was made. Humans should know a little better.
Grabbing a drink he took a seat next to Yazoo, sprawling against his brother's side. He too was dressed in comfy - leggings and an oversized sweater in bright colors with his hair pulled back from his face.
"I drew corrections."
no subject
He notices his gift and he smiles, nudging Kadaj to point it out to him too.
"He didn't throw it away." and that leaves him a bit proud.
But then he is drawn into their conversation, curious. Why would anyone draw anatomically wrong illustrations for sex? That seems like something that should be gotten right.
"What were they screwing up?"
no subject
"Ah." Vincent has a hunch of what's going on. And look, he has a stack of samples to choose from. "Give me a moment."
Time to rip this band-aid off. Though Vincent does expect he'll be amused. One from the pile is selected at random and the rest set aside momentarily. He begins to flip through; there's only a slight pause as if he's trying to discern the original drawing or tilts the angle of the magazine in order to read the margin notes more clearly.
"...You have a good eye the technical, Kadaj," he remarks finally. A few more pages ends the magazine and he sets it aside. For now, there probably won't be a need to view the rest.
He's absolutely going to make sure Aerith takes a look through though. At the very least when this is all done and they're alone with the liquor they'll sorely need.
"Looks like I need to begin with a few questions. You both understand human anatomy? You know what sex means?"
...Kadaj clearly understands human anatomy. Does Yazoo?
no subject
"Extreme sizing of body parts, wrong positions for legs and arms, too small of a back to support the anatomy, reproductive organs way too long, acting like they can do a full penetration and come out of the mouth." He understands that some people have different ideas about how bodies work, but there has to be a limit. There were too many bits that were just wrong.
Kadaj blinks at the question, frowning slightly. He wasn't sure if Yazoo knew some of this, but bodies were obvious. They knew at least enough to figure out where to hit.
"To continue the species, breeding for certain traits, and yes, I know anatomy."
no subject
"Full penetration that comes out of the mouth...?" he wrinkles his nose, "What do they call that? Gutting?" he laughs lightly, "No, skewering. You'd have to use a sword for that and they wouldn't survive it."
Forget sex! That move is about survival.
"I get how our bodies work." he answers Vincent now, "Women are probably more complicated than we are since they carry young." or so he presumes, "There's the pleasure aspect too. Some people do it just because they like it."
As for what sex means... Yazoo raises his shoulders in a shrug.
cw: negative aspects of sex, r-word, description of non-consenual or death
In some ways. Others? Well it does leave all the weird societal nuance. And the magazines.
"As Yazoo said. With most sentient individuals, the act of sex goes beyond continuing the species. Because of the pleasure felt, it's used for recreation. Or an expression of one's attraction or bond."
He raps the top of the magazine stack with the knuckles of his right hand.
"There's a small number who find enjoyment in mixing elements of pain with the pleasure of sex. Mutual consent usually determines whether this is okay. Then there's fiction like this. It's a way to explore that to unrealistic extremes. Caricatures."
Vincent then closes his eyes and lets out a sigh.
"There's also a negative side. Those who would kill during the act of sex, force or maim another. Some of what's depicted in these magazines falls in that category. It's often believed that 'thought' and 'imagination' like these are safe outlets for those urges."
The former Turk then shakes his head. His voice remains calm and devoid of where he stands on this issue; he's simply explaining it for now.
"Others would disagree. Where you stand on that is for you to decide."
Vincent isn't going to make that decision for the two Remnants.
cw: negative aspects of sex, r-word, description of non-consenual or death
"So it's a fantasy they are working out or an idea that won't leave or just something to get paid for? Is that what you're saying? Is there limits on acceptable ranges or is that mostly on how people work it out first?"
cw: negative aspects of sex, r-word, description of non-consenual or death
"Pointless." he sighs and sits back, "Focusing on the impossible will only lead to depression. If you can't do it, work on something else."
Morality is another issue entirely - one that Yazoo knows nothing about.
Re: cw: negative aspects of sex, r-word, description of non-consenual or death
Yazoo will be handed one of the magazines to browse over; it is random which one it is and might not contain any of the most excessive 'caricatures'. But it is meant to give him a moment to speak to Kadaj first.
"That's a complicated question to answer. The person can be drawing for their own exploration, for money or both. Are you wanting the limits to something that will never leave the pages of a drawing or written word? Or do you only want to know what applies to reality?"
His gaze shifts back to Yazoo. A bit of time will be given for the perusal of the magazine, but ultimately the former Turk will begin to speak again.
"You'll find that what's considered limits varies from person to person. When it comes to sex, anything that benefits one person without the consideration of any other participant's wants, needs, or comfort is wrong in most societies. Definitely the ones of our world. There are also... situations that are universally unacceptable."
He closes his eyes and lets out a sigh.
"...There are some that like to play with the illusion they are being forced against their will. Or with other scenarios that are less... problematic. When it comes to writings or drawings, well. There's some things that should be obvious why they're wrong to try in reality."
This last comes out a little dry. Followed by an ever more arid comment.
"Suggesting that a blade would be more efficient than flesh in these cases shouldn't be done seriously."
no subject
"This isn't just about physical needs?" Vincent seemed to be treading carefully on some kind of tightrope. Something that goes far beyond what people can and cannot do. Of what weapons can and cannot do. Morality wasn't a lesson he ever really had thought of.
"You said willing and illusions. Is this like how He used us in order to gain Mother's cells just so he could fight Big Brother?"
That was against his will. Once he knew it. Was that similar? It was easy enough to think of it that way.
no subject
"Our limits weren't considered." so, if that sort of logic is followed, they had been forced, hadn't they?
Kept naive. Kept willing because what child doesn't love their mother? Each piece able to become Mother's "perfect child" in order to rid Gaia of Cloud Strife.
It is gross and Yazoo forgets the magazine, his expression cloudy.
cw: manipulation, control, abuse
"Yes." It's stark and its honest. Still Vincent's regard doesn't lessen. He leans forward, intending to pluck the magazine from Yazoo if he's willing to let go. But if he insists on clinging to it, the former Turk won't insist; he'll just tap the stack he intended to return it as a suggestion. Those things won't be needed for the moment.
"As I understand it, you were created to serve that purpose. I don't know much about your awareness of self in the beginning. Maybe you always had it." Maybe it was an illusion that slowly developed to something more.
"It wasn't a luxury I had much time to consider before, given the circumstances. I won't apologize. And you can resent me for that."
Ultimately while the trio remained under Sephiroth or Jenova or whatever sway, they needed to be stopped. Their actions didn't instill in Vincent a sense that he could or should take a more sympathetic approach.
"But yes. The moment you became individuals and... perhaps before. What you were manipulated and forced to do in hopes of gaining the favor of Jenova was wrong by most moral standards."
He finally closes his eyes and sighs.
"...And it was probably always an illusion. You could never hope to achieve your mother's favor. This... by Sephiroth's admission, was just to facilitate his return."
Re: cw: manipulation, control, abuse
"And that's why everyone was upset when we wanted to know more about a 'sex dungeon'. Because the lines are blurred even among humans. Right?"
There were some things they could figure out easily enough, but it was faster to ask people. Having people stumble over themselves when it comes to some things though makes it harder to learn things. And they really do need to learn things. How can they be people if no one tells them stuff they should be aware of?
"Because to some, the consent of partners is stronger than the fear of pain?"
no subject
"Touch. Don't I feel alive?" he asks quietly once Kadaj asks his final question, "Life can come from all sorts of places, can't it? Not all creatures are grown in a womb. Some are hatched. Some grow from seeds. So what if Kadaj, Loz and I came from shadows? That was our seed, that's all."
Now onto the ideas of consent and...violence.
"Even with consent, being too violent would be atrocious to most, right?"
cw: (discussion of ) implied grooming
Mostly. It's not as if he can't quest what the meaning of the offered hand is. And think of his response. Because a bare hand must be met in kind in such a moment, no? It would only be right.
The former Turk had slowly begun the work of removing his gauntlet. Deft fingers work the fitted armor free and set it aside. Then come the ordinary glove that lies underneath. The one on his right hand is also removed and set aside.
Normal, ordinary looking hands. Well, as pale as the rest of him. But that's to be expected. With Yazoo's behest finally voiced, Vincent reaches with one of his hands to take the Remnant's. The other?
He expects Kadaj may offer or have interest in doing as his brother did. That is often their way.
But first to be answered would be the 'eldest' of them. There was more to unfold there, in a way.
"Exactly. To understand it not just for yourselves and what you accept or don't, but to have empathy for others and their limits."
There is a pause and humor returns, even in this serious moment.
"That's a part of it. But there's more. When it comes to sex and some other topics, a lot of people aren't able to be candid about their personal tastes. In part because of those blurred lines." His attention shifts between the two. "Even when the topic is between adults."
"You're not children. Nor are you adults. But because of your appearance and personalities, you present as teenagers, young enough and naive enough that they panicked you weren't ready for these types of topics. Think of it as a society issue." A bit of grimness returns. "Sometimes, people who are too open with the young about that topic are subject to accusations about their motives."
That matter of taboo again.
"For the record, the definition of a sex dungeon that I know is a term for a room designed to explore various sex fetishes." Tendi's definition might have been more dubious, but Vincent can only go with what he knows. But at least he did get around to explaining the term that started all of this.
Yes. Yazoo feels alive. Whether that's because of the Admiral's limiters or because of some strange circumstance of simply existing despite being a being created from Sephiroth or Jenova's legacy- shadows, as he says- the hand is... warm? Or maybe that's just his own. Despite his almost death-like pallor, Vincent feels just as alive. No small feat for a dead man.
"I won't deny it. You may have died on our world. But because of the Admiral, you've also been given a chance to survive." There is... something intense about Vincent's words. It's empathy. Whether that ability to relate in some unspoken fashion to how the two Remnants have come to be on the Barge would interfere with the former Turk's ability to do what needs to be done should things go wrong...
That is a matter of the future. Ruby eyes look at Yazoo steadily.
"Yes. And sometimes atrocity can take other forms that aren't as easily recognized. Like what you did to the children when you sought Jenova's favor."
Vincent includes Kadaj in that look. It's clear the message; simply being driven by Mother or Sephiroth's will was not going to erase what was done.
"What do you both want? To be accepted as individuals? To be seen as 'real'? Do you want to become human or stay how you were born?" Shadows.
Vincent does shake his head as if to forestall an immediate answer.
"You don't have to answer. But those are things you should be thinking about."
Re: cw: (discussion of ) implied grooming
"What we want..?"
Before it was all Mother. They were looking for Mother, they needed Her to become whole. But wasn't that just to become a certain type of wholeness? The kind that was dictated by Sephiroth? As his shadows, pieces of his mind directed in a single purpose? Pieces that started to have their own thoughts and needs but still held inside that single focused need.
But what do they want now? That was easy. Time. To learn, to grow, to be real. And part of all that included having conversations like this. So they knew why some subjects makes other people upset.
"We were weapons. Tools. What we wanted is what our creator wanted. And tools never asked why they needed to use tactics like what we did with those children. It wasn't necessary for us to know. Only that it was a step that would led us to our goal.
"But now? We do not want to be tools or weapons. As for what we want?" He shrugged, looking over at Yazoo, wishing that Loz was here too to hear this. To make his own thoughts be heard. "We are learning so we can figure that out."
Re: cw: (discussion of ) implied grooming
"If we become independent, if we move away from all we have known, does that mean we'll be filled with regret?"
He doesn't want that. Who would? Yet the call to be himself - the call to understand himself - is too strong to resist.
"I want to be real." he states softly, touching Vincent and Kadajs' hands, examining them, trying to note any differences, "I want to know who I am. Maybe...even if it hurts. Even if I end up hating what I did for Mother."
The sacrilege! His voice is quiet, cautious and he almost expects a punishment.
Re: cw: (discussion of ) implied grooming
But 'real' is probably harder to define than a corporeal form.
Listening to both answer provides an interesting perspective; that Yazoo seems more certain of what he wants- though scared of what it will mean- while Kadaj is less clear. Though that isn't necessarily a bad thing; not from where the two Remnants stand. Vincent wonders if it means Kadaj is keeping his cards close or is simply less impetuous.
Well, if he's the more careful, that could be a stabling influence on the decisions Yazoo makes. And that's fine; not to mention to be expected at the end of the day.
"Keep learning," he focuses first on Kadaj only because the 'eldest' answered first. "It's part of growing. If there's something you have questions about and people seem worried about sharing." Like what brought them to this point today. "You can come ask myself or Aerith."
Vincent is almost certain she wouldn't mind that he just volunteered her for this.
"For my part, I'll try my best to find an answer." After all, even the living don't know everything. His gaze travels to Yazoo then and focuses. The hand remains still to be inspected. The former Turk doesn't offer comfort by a gentle squeeze or anything of that nature.
But he does pitch his voice to be a little more gentle. At least Vincent tries to do so. It's that caution that prompts him to try and sound less... strict. Less indifferent.
"That may be the case, Yazoo. When you begin to understand why people you care about react they way they do to your actions... you may be filled with regrets for that alone. When you discover empathy for the distress of others and knowledge of why... you may regret what you did to people you harmed in the past."
These are the simple truths of some things the two seek to attain. Vincent won't sugarcoat it.
"I won't lie. There are some people who are 'real' and never regret their actions. Some even enjoy causing others pain. But who can say? Personally, I don't think that's the case with you."
Mother. There is a pause here as Vincent decides what to say next.
"...From my point of view, Jenova is not.... a mother. So anything I say, I understand if you doubt my words. But I want you to know... even if you love your mother, that doesn't mean that the things they do... or ask their children to do, are always right."
He's trying to be careful. Speaking negatively of 'Mother' could go poorly. Yet Vincent is also trying to be honest.
"A mother who uses their love to manipulate their 'children', who says they must do something to 'earn' their love. That is not love. Love is... should be unconditional. From mothers. From children... anyone."
