I'd lie for you, and that's the truth [Open]!
Who: Aerith and you!
What: Plants, maybe catmint, and trying to relax
When: Port fun times
Where: On the Barge, the sea, and all over the island
Warnings: TBA
[Video]
So for those of you who are looking all over for plants-let me know please? Especially if you're in the infirmary or in the kitchen. I have pots that you can use to gather stuff up with and I can drop them off. And if you need a trowel, I'll hang out with you so you can get the plants out, or grab some roots or whatever.
Also- if you do need healing, please let me know. And...those who have borrowed restore materia? You can drop it off at my cabin at the Barge, or at the Greenhouse. I'll be there if I'm not on the island.
Thanks!
[Plant Gathering]
Aerith was going around with a book or two (or five) with a pack, some gardening tools, and pots. Lots, and lots of pots. There was a lot of work that she had put in, with her frequently pausing, opening up a book, and quickly flipping through the pages to see if it matched what she had in her book.
"Hey." She made to flip her book over, and offered the person a look at the photo within the page to see if it matched the plant that was in front of him. "Does this look right to you?"
Or you might find her later, struggling with a little too many pots filled with various plants (mostly seeds, seedlings and fruits) and dirt and trying to head back to the Barge. Lend her a hand?
And for those who are of the cat variety...yes. Aerith has surprisingly found some cat mint. You could bug her for having it while she's gathering it or at the Greenhouse!
[Greenhouse]
Sometimes she came back- not for long stretches though. There was a lot to do on the island itself. But she needed to do what she could in order to get the supplies so they could grow what plants they managed tosteal forage from the island proper.
"Okay, so this needs to be watered, this one needs to be potted...and we need to filter all the seeds from the berries, and maybe give it to the kitchen. Maybe they can make jam."
She was muttering to herself, and to the horde of plants that she had. But she sighed, and felt her shoulders slump a little. "Maybe I should have asked for more volunteers..."
Or maybe she shouldn't have tried to do so much. But she had gotten so excited...it couldn't be helped.
[The Beach]
Aerith wasn't always so plant crazy. Sometimes, she took a little time to explore, to talk to some of the locals politely, and to enjoy the sunshine. Sometimes, she liked to go around, bootless, when she could. She liked feeling the dirt under her feet, and the beach too.
The beach was especially fun, and she could be often found frolicking in the waves, laughing from the pure joy of being on the beach and feeling the waves and water on her feet.
"Come on! The water isn't cold at all!"

Plant Gathering - the struggle is real
"Need help with those? What can I take?"
no subject
Otherwise she wouldn't been able to carry so much. She only had noodle arms, after all.

"For storage and for a new section in the Greenhouse. We'll keep it away from the rest for now, just in case they have anything. I'd hate for the rest of the plants to get sick."
Closed for Cloud
Aerith had everything ready in her side. Some water to drink, the cups, her staff- snacks too. But she always carried snacks these days. She was even wearing a shorter dress, one that went to her knees rather than the usual ankle length.
She was ready to push off at least.
"I mean it's all in the name of repair but...all alone...on a boat...we both know this isn't a date. Right?"
She was teasing. As usual. She hadn't done it as much lately.
no subject
"Right," he says, giving her a somewhat pointed look that says I know you're teasing, but don't take the joke too far.
It's been a few months since they decided to try getting to know each other all over again from the start like normal people, and for the most part Cloud would say they've done a pretty good job of building an actual friendship this way and learning about each other as they are now. But every once in a while, one of them says or does something, or something happens, that slips them back into older ways of seeing each other, and the most recent one was the most dire for Cloud - watching Hela nearly kill her. After he managed to take the goddess down, he'd sprinted onto the Barge and took the portal straight to the infirmary to find her and Vincent. She was alive, and that discovery on its own almost brought Cloud to tears of relief - but also tears of dread, of frustration, that such a thing could come so close to happening again on his watch, and for a little while after that it was difficult to stay fully in the present with her. Difficult not to return to the days of constantly fearing she might vanish from his life again without warning and thinking about what could have been, if only.
By now he's pretty much back on track, though, and so his warning is not all that serious...but it is still a warning. Still, he can't help but relax at just hearing her sound like her normal self.
"I'll be fine. You're the one who thinks all this stuff is 'romantic.'" Is he acting like more of a grump about this than he really feels? Yes. He's gotta play his part of their banter, after all.
no subject
Things weren't the same as before they had reconciled, and that truly was for the best. They were being friends with one another, supporting one another, learning about who Cloud truly was and what they could be without all of the past. They did slip up sometimes- and there was good reason for it. There was reason too that while Hela had nearly ended her life, much in the same way that Sephiroth had done, Aerith had tried to play it down and ensure it wasn't a big deal. For Cloud, it had been years since the fateful incident where she was lowered to the waters in his arms. For her, it had still only been months and fresh in her mind.
But things were getting better. She was still his friend, and she was his, without the real romance between them. Truly, Aerith didn't want that.
"But it's so romantic! In the dark of night, waiting for the dawn to repair the ship..." She smiled at him. "I mean...better then thinking about my sense of balance, or how I might just spill it all over myself. Or you. Completely accidentally of course."

He takes up both oars and adeptly steers them away from the dock, out into the open sea. He likes the work of rowing the boat. It feels good to keep active and have something to occupy his hands and body while they talk and take in the scenery. The repetitive motion is soothing, somehow.
After a few minutes, "You done any trips before this, or is this your first one?"
no subject
Or bother him too much about who was going to row the boat, at least there. But she was going to enjoy the ride, and keep him company. She'd see if she could try to help him with the rowing when he grew tired, maybe.
"No, I've been on a few others. Vincent, and Wen Qionglin. They were both really...interesting."
She shook her head. "What about you? Is this your first trip to grab Dawnwater?"

"And it's been awhile! How are- oh Justine, you didn't have to get me anything!"
Justine was so sweet, when she wasn't being scary.

"But I thought of you. Look how lovely!"

All baskets and gathering was set aside at this lovely little flower bracelet. Red and whites- colors that Aerith liked to wear.
And together...they made pink.
"Thank you so much. I've never seen a flower bracelet before."

the beach
For all his attention is with his new friends, he hasn't forgotten old ones. When he sees Aerith, he heads her way with a friendly 'see you soon' to a Fauna.
"Hello, Aerith!"
Re: the beach
She came over, smiling and simply happy. The residents were interesting, and their company was nice- but she also enjoyed being able to connect with the earth, and the ocean. There was no Lifestream, but the life made her feel...more like herself.
"It's good to see you!" She was in a great mood, from how she was more bouncing than walking as she made to meet up with him. "How are you? I feel like we haven't talked in ages!"
Re: the beach
"It's good to see you, and looking so well."

Aerith laughed quietly, and shook her head. He was too charming by half, but she enjoyed it.
"And I could say the same for you. You look good." Better really, since she saw him during his death toll. "So! You've been talking to the locals? They look super nice, but I've been distracted with all the plants."
Girl loves plants.

Beach!
He is also, noticeably, not wearing his black coat and pants anymore. Instead he is dressed in a white tunic befitting an ancient Greek! When he swims back to shore, the fabric sticks to his body and he shakes his silver hair out of his eyes.
"It feels nice!"
no subject
And down he goes. It's good to see him out of the leather- it was far more like a reclaiming of himself one way or another- but he still was wearing something a little...local.
And very wet, she observed as he came to the shore.
"The water? Or the jumping?" Aerith shook her head, smiling ruefully. "Do you feel sore at all?"
He had to be bruised. Or would get bruised, silly thing.
no subject
"Sore?" he blinks and looks down at himself, lifting his hands to examine his arms, "I don't think so. Why should I be?"
He's...a lot. In a variety of ways.
"The water burned when I first hit." is that what she means?
no subject
It was a little...well.
Aerith made to turn around, and picked up a towel, offering it for Yazoo, smiling.
"Here! You're gonna get sand all over you." Her smile was bright. Clearly it was just to dry off!
"And just sore from the impact. It happens sometimes when you dive from a high place." She told him, still bright. "If you're okay though, then that's great! But burn...like up your nose burn?"

Plant Gathering
"Hey, HEY! Where's the stuff?"
no subject
She blinked, and tried looking around for the source of the voice- and found a...cat. Huh. Okay. That was new. Aerith tilted her head.
"Sorry, but which stuff? I have a few plants you might like."
no subject
He's not a regular cat, and technically he could drink too, if he wished. But he doesn't much like the kind of loss of control that comes with alcohol. Catnip, on the other hand, now that's completely different.
no subject
Aerith glanced at the plant, before looking back at the cat.
"I can't give you this one because I'm planting it in the Greenhouse." She told the cat. "But I can show where the catnip patch is? You can roll around in it and there's a nice warm rock nearby."
