That butler, baring teeth
Who: The demon usually known as Sebastian and you
When: During the Golden Days Flood
Where: Basically anywhere
Warnings: Possible violence, possible cruelty to children if any babies tag in
[Writing in the luminous box is time-consuming and far more trouble than it's worth; the demon would use the far more convenient voice option, but, ah... the accent he's supposed to have for this game. He's never heard this supposed accent; he can't quite replicate it when speaking. So, writing it is.]
Before you ask: I am well.
A question, sir: a Warden may, at their discretion, restore their permanent Inmate's powers in full, may they not?
Is there a reason why you have not done this for me? Have I not proven myself responsible?
[Someone is suddenly quite willing to ask his dear warden for things! For absolutely no particular reason, of course.]
First of all: Sebastian doesn't show up for his breakfast shift. Or for his lunch shift. Or his dinner shift. Why would he?
No, instead he's busy roaming the Barge. Never once has he been in a place with such a concentration of humans smelling absolutely delicious. There is pain, anger, resentment, physical and mental trauma... coupled with a certain je ne sais quoi that, he idly assumes, must come from the multiple horrific deaths the Barge allows for. Either way, it's intensely, maddeningly, tempting. And he is so very hungry.
Going on a rampage would be easy enough, consuming as many delicious souls in one go as he can. Supposedly he'll be trapped here either way, so consequences be damned, no? But the wardens will get on his case if he causes too much public disruption, will shut down his mealtime before he's had his fill. So he'll be very good.
Humans (even children) on the Barge may be aware of the demon staring, unblinking, at them from some distance. It may even approach them, smiling.
"Hello. Find you yourself affected by this recent, mm, Flood, or no?"
Sebastian looks much the same as always. His body language is more loose and arrogant than usual, he's lacking his usual Queen's English accent, and there is a higher chance to see his eyes cat-like and reddish in hue... but surely that's nothing to be alarmed about.
[ooc: Would you like Sebastian to (attempt to) eat the soul of your human character? Hit me up here or at narrowmybed @ Plurk and we can talk details!]

The demon approaching him is a different matter.
He looks up at him. He doesn't look alarmed, but he isn't showing much emotion in general.
"Yes."
no subject
"Yes, I suppose you would be too young to be here otherwise. Very strange, is it not?"
no subject
"It's very different."

"Have you been affected by this... flood?"
no subject
"That, or the entity responsible for all this is merely playing."

Working in the library is a very young Trevor Belmont, who's struggling to come to terms with the knowledge that everyone he loves is going to die in less than a year. These visions, this place, it has to be because God wants him to save everyone.
He rubs at his eyes, exhausted and frustrated and leaning over a huge book, struggling to make it all make sense.
"Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck." He whispers, in a voice that hasn't cracked yet.
And it's here that he jerks his head up, catching sight of Sebastian.
no subject
When Trevor's jerks up, the demon smiles, and approaches, now that it's been discovered.
"Hello", it says. "Is something troubling you?"
no subject
He swallows, and unravels Morning Star. He’s going to have to fight this thing in human skin.
“I know you. I know what you’re here for. And I’m telling you you’re going to have to kill me first.”
no subject
"Mm, I suppose you do, don't you?"
It laughs, spreading its both hands palm-up.
"But come now, I think you are confused. I wish only to talk." It lies.
sorry. had to.
"You're a demon. You steal men's souls and make them your slaves!"
no subject
"Certainly some demons do. Personally, I prefer to make myself useful."

Re: [text/private]
[There's a pause. Suddenly having hundreds years' worth of memories crammed into one's head is... the timeline is somewhat difficult to parse. The god. The necromancer, what was its name--?]
Would not the incident with Mr Gaius have played out very differently, had I too had my full powers at the time? [See, Hakkai, it's your fault for failing to return Sebastian's powers that things went down that way.]
Re: [text/private]
I assume you're affected by the current flood. How long will it be for you before we meet?
[He's already had a very painful, but enlightening, conversation with a much younger Jedao. It probably bodes ill that he's already out of patience on the first day of the flood.]
[audio/private]
How astute!
And really, what does that matter? I can hardly keep track of all different human calenders.
[audio/private]
I'm just curious as to how different you might be. Before your current master, I take it.
[The accent gives that away.]
[audio/private]
Please worry not: I am not a mindless child like half the people here currently.

"You look stupid."
Clearly Johann hasn't changed a bit.
no subject
"Why ever think you your opinions are of interest to me?" ...And, just to clarify it does recognise him: "Johann."
no subject
He grins. "That's a name I get later. Don't need one now."
no subject
"And my name is not Sebastian yet. So shall we forego the human customs, one monster to another?"
no subject
He's also exceptionally nosy.
"Who gave you your name?"

He could sense there was something wrong about him, and his stony expression pulled into a soft frown. He was unfortunately not armed, but he could sense this wasn't a fight he wanted to take on if it got to that anyway.
It didn't stop him from interacting though. "So it would seem." The young boy didn't remember anything about Floods, but knowledge about it came anyway. "You are unaffected?"
no subject
"I have, but I only lost a decade." It could have been two, he could be seven years old right now. The possibility makes him grimace a little; for all he knows that's still a possibility. "How about you?" He knows, distantly, that Sebastian isn't human; the fact that he doesn't look any younger might mean nothing at all.
