Who: UltraWarden Kol and OPEN
What: Hungry, but reluctantly moral, vampire goes exploring
When: Backdated to the 29th through the battle.
Where: All over the barge.
The advantage of being a (redeemed) vampire on a barge that's falling apart and low on supplies is that he doesn't need to consume the sort of food other people need.
The disadvantage is that he very much needs blood. Lack of blood wouldn't kill him, but he has no doubt he'd kill his fellow passengers and he'd be killed in return. Even if that weren't the case, he'd prefer to keep his mind functioning.
So, blood.
Most of it coming from those other passengers, via arrangement of some type or another. Alan's been particularly good (and enjoyable), but any who'd agree have certainly been a food source.
And he's still half starved.
His first stop when he finds himself on this new barge is the dining hall. Where he takes a literal pile of bags to a table, sits down and drinks. He's not sloppy about it, but he is very very efficient at draining the things. From there he starts moving blood back to his cabin on the other ship. He feels no guilt about it.
Once that's done he's more... expansive in his exploration of the ship. It isn't really exploration, of course, but he takes full advantage of the amenities. Goes back to the dining hall frequently for both food as others recognize it, and blood, visits the pub and drinks (heavily), the library and reads (heavily) , the pool where he swims (a lot), every last damn common room-
and wanders the halls, idly wondering if stealing an inmate for Alan would really be wrong.
And if he cares.

...but it wouldn't be any kind of deal breaker.
It has been a few years, after all.
When he finds Kol, it's in the dining hall, and it's the stockpiling that has him noticing that it's back to being his Kol. It has him walking up and slipping a hand on the other man's shoulder before letting his fingers slide along the side of his throat. It's a greeting.

"Enjoying the change of scenery?"

"There's a shortage of that too," she says. It isn't a question. "Would you like a hand?"

She nods, then uses her skirt as a makeshift basket, scooping blood bags into it so she doesn't drop any on their way back to the other ship.
"I'm Tris," she tells him. "I'm friends with the version of you from this Barge." As they turn to go, Zeph and Chime come flying over from the corner of the dining hall where they were getting into trouble, the dragon perching on one of her shoulders and the monkey construct on the other.

Which is to say 'what the hell are those?" he isn't scared, just... wary.

Tris is fluent in unspoken 'what the hell is that,' and she'll answer the question regardless of whether he actually put it properly into words. "Chime was created in a glassblower's magical accident. She's made of glass and assorted spells, with lightning for blood. Zeph is a construct made by one of my fellow passengers. He becomes a containment field if something causes me to lose control of my magic. Like a portable ward."
She leans her head to the side slightly in an affectionate nudge to the bright green monkey.

"Should I worry about a loss of control?"

But he hesitates when he sees someone who looks like Kol in the library, unsure for a second whether it's the one he knows or not and unable to completely suppress his curiosity.
And after all the time he's spent in the library, he's starting to get a feel for how to find things. "Uh, are you looking for anything specific?"

Halls
"Kol," she greets with a slight nod of her head.

Look, he was an asshole even now but less of one - and aware of how much more of one he'd been.

She can understand the meaning of the comment, even if it is put across a bit blunt.

Dining Hall
He does smirk a little at Kol's plate. "Stockpiling, huh?"
Re: Dining Hall
Dining Hall
"Yeah, what's not perishable anyway." And he is focusing on high fat, high protein non-perishables for his stockpile. He needs to get the most he can out of the space he has.
Re: Dining Hall
"When we've finished here I'll help you carry things over." Between the two of them, mutual speed and his strength, it should be fairly straightforward.

And perhaps some decent company besides. He might not really have been seeking Kol out specifically, but he certainly isn't going to complain about running into him, and he makes his way over without a second thought.
"It's been a while, hasn't it."
Since they last had access to a bar that was even halfway decent, he means, although given that he's aware that there are sometimes alternate versions of themselves on the Barge that has been kind enough to stop by he's taking a bit of a risk that this is actually the right Kol. But he figures it probably isn't going to hurt too much if he's gotten the wrong one.

But yes, this is his Kol.
