luminous beings are we, not this crude matter
Who: Luke and/or whoever Luke's trading bodies with
What: During Nesting Syndrome flood
When: All during event
Notes for planned and unplanned switches: Luke comes with the Force, so it's up to you how sensitive your character is to the Force and how able they are to use it. This could include: telekinesis, mind control/reading (limited), extra sensitivity to surroundings and senses, enhanced reflexes/speed/strength, and could be at various levels of control.
Feel free to use this log to play out your character being Luke, too.
Luke's been cutting himself off, of late. He's pretending it's practice, working on his shields, working on discipline. In reality, he's missing those he's grown close to on the Barge. The absence, in quick succession, of old and new companions and friends and people-he-wanted-to-be-friends-with-but-were-actually-Sinjir has hit him, and while he goes about his normal routine (meditating, leading and learning from practice sessions in the gym, patrolling, eating in the mess) he's just a little closed off.
He knows the Admiral's announced another potential disaster, but he's never been the type to shrink from known or unknown threats, and the first switch takes him entirely by surprise...

Tesla!Luke
Anyone want to introduce him to bagged blood?

(On what is a question he might need to ask Tesla himself, given that the man has been on the Barge for upwards of a year and yet has never seemed to avail himself of the blood the Admiral offers for those passengers who have vampiric tendencies.)
Of a lesser, but still immediate relevance is the fact that he happens to be something of a living magnet; while this, too, is something that can be controlled, it does mean that if Luke isn't careful he might find that anything metal and not tied down is more than a little inclined to start shifting in his direction.
Elsewhere, Tesla finds himself suddenly, and abruptly, human again and while he's been prepared to deal with that, it still leaves him blinking for a moment. But it passes swiftly and his first thought is to head back in the direction of where he's just been: the deck is certainly not one of the more frequently populated areas of the Barge, but it's probably better to not leave Luke without at least some idea of how the body he's just recently found himself inhabiting works.

Then again, there are a million reasons why being in a new body is disorienting, so there’s no need to pick one. All he knows is it’s good to see himself moving towards him, where he leans against the railing. He frowns slightly as the body gets closer. It’s not like he carries a mirror around with him. And the back of a hand is, well, the back of a hand. The clothes he’s wearing are nice, but Luke knows about as much about clothes as people think he does.
“Huh,” he says, as his body gets closer. “I’m really… not very tall, am I?”
no subject
"I wasn't going to be the one to say it," he answers, with an easy shrug that most likely looks a little out of place on his borrowed body. "But comparatively, yeah."
It's not as different as he might have expected, though. Sure, he's looking at things from a slightly different angle. But that's not really so much of an inconvenience in the long run. Just a slight change of perspective and he can deal with that without too much trouble.

"Nikola Tesla. Although I have to admit this is probably the most unusual situation to have to introduce oneself in that I've run into so far."

Helen!Luke
So suddenly being one leads to him being off-balance for reasons not just due to not having access to the Force...
no subject
"Luke?" she asks cautiously.
no subject
"Yeah," he says after a moment, still getting used to the sound of her voice when he speaks. He spreads his hands and shrugs, and that throws him slightly off balance. Center of gravity, he thinks.
Or maybe it's being Force-less.
"Well. This is... awkward."
no subject
Instinctively, she reaches out as though to help balance Luke, but fortunately he doesn't actually fall. Helen winces lightly as she glances over him. They're going to have a bit to work on and that doesn't even cover the Force she can feel in his body.
"It takes some time to get used to, though until you're more used to the center of balance on a woman's body, you might want to take off my shoes." She has a habit of wearing two and three-inch heels every day. Those are more difficult to get used to and she doesn't want to risk him twisting an ankle.
no subject
But the shoes are… impractical is the nicest word he can think of.
“Yeah,” he says, and he reaches out to grab her shoulder so he doesn’t fall as he reaches down to pull them off. “Um, no offense, but… why? Do you wear them, I mean.”
Even without the need to fight or run, the balance thing can’t be fun.

At his question, she purses her lips with amusement and flicks her eyebrows in that traditionally teasing way she has. "Have you seen how my legs look in them?" she teases, though it's with a note of seriousness. She knows she looks good in heels and she doesn't mind wearing them. They have always served her well, though she can understand how some might feel them awkward or dangerous to walk around in. "They do take time to get used to. I should have a pair of flats back in my cabin, but if you'd like to try to learn how to walk in these sometime, I could teach you. A lot of it is balance and knowing exactly where to place your feet."

Bill!Luke - OTA
There's not really any preparing for being a short, two-dimensional being. The only thing Luke has going for him right now is the fact that extra senses and weird sensations are sort of like the Force?
But actually... no.
no subject
Luke's body leans around the doorway of the common room Bill remembers being in before the switch. His hair is a mess, and something is off with his pupils. He grins like a bear trap.
"Hey, buddy! You in there?"
no subject
But it doesn't happen, apart from a muffled, mostly internal scream as parts of him quiver and wiggle haphazardly.
no subject
"Wow, do you ever look pathetic! You've got a great voice for cackling, by the way, you should do it way more often! Don't waste your talents!"
no subject
He hates the way his voice sounds in Bill's... voice. But it's a good reminder--hate leads to imbalance, which leads to the dark side. He's not so much worried about the dark right now as control, and even if he doesn't have access to the Force, he should have access to whatever it is that lets Bill be... whatever Bill is.
Calm down, Luke. Visualize taking a deep breath. Open yourself up to this body.
It feels awful, everything cut off, cut out. But he's practiced this, and after a long moment, he speaks.
"Get. Out."
(eye scream mention)
Bill leans over his knee and beams down at Luke.
"What's the rush? It took me a long time to build that body! It's not like you're trapped in a helpless prison of a physical form on a boat full of giant apes that can pop your eyeball with one finger!"

whah whah bein' a dick
He comes across Skywalker in the gym, walking by the entrance, and has to quietly wonder if he will be the next.
I love... dick?
So he's doing something he does when it won't bother anyone else, which is use the gym as a track, the equipment as obstacles to face by Force-assisted leaps and twists. He's worked up a sweat by the time he senses someone at the door and looks over.
"Hey, Han," he says absently, tired and not quite thinking clearly.
hey now
"I'm afraid you're mistaken, Master Skywalker."
hey you fed that to me <--that's what they said
Frowning deeper with what that focus tells him.
"Grand Moff," he says coldly.
too late to walk that back now
#sorrynotsorry
"Which of your senses tells you I am who I am?" he asks. "Or is it the part that puts it all together?"
