Everybody Walk The Dinosaur
Who: OTA
Where: Hatchery/Nursery Facility
When: Throughout the event
What: Different sets for different scenarios.
Warnings: Will add if needed!
[Scenario 1: VIP Tour]
Kira waits in the central hall that separates the nursery from the hatchery. She's dressed in the khaki outfit of a tour guide, but with a lab coat thrown over it and her ID pinned to her lapel: YUKIMURA, KIRA - HATCHERY/NURSERY ASSISTANT.
She smiles at those who enter, hands folded neatly in front of her as they get settled for the tour. "Hello! I'm Kira, and welcome to the park's hatching and nursery facility. To your left you'll notice our East Wing, which is where the eggs are cared for until they're ready for hatching. The West Wing is our nursery center where dinosaurs in their infancy stages are monitored and worked with until they're ready to be turned out into the wild. Where would you like to go first?"
[Scenario 2: Egg Watch]
It's the wee hours, and Kira has drawn the short straw for tonight's egg monitoring duty. It's mostly hourly checks and staying alert for any spikes in monitoring status, so it might be easy to find Kira doing things like working on reports, idly watching a movie on her tablet, and on occasion singing - yes, singing - to the eggs along with whatever happens to be playing on her iPod. She seems to have boundless energy and is ill-inclined to fall asleep.
[Scenario 3: Feeding Time]
Kira stands in the middle of one of the nursery side corral pens, a trio of baby anklyosaurii clambering for her attention as she doles out buckets of food. The fact that she's named them (Bonk, Smash, and Crunch) may not have escaped the notice of her superiors, and truth be told there might have been a little bit of imprinting, but they're still considered viable for release into the general population of open range dinosaurs.
Kira will be sad to see them go, but she knows they have to, eventually.
[Scenario 4: It's Miller Time]
Kira relaxes in the employee cantina. Off duty, she's got a burger, fries, and a thus far untouched beer in front of her. She's almost always in a good mood, and as she leans back at her table she checks out the room to see who else is around, hoping someone might be willing to join her so she can have some company.

"Hey, Tiffany." she greets once it's open. "C'mon in. Once I'm finished with these guys it's on to the stegos and the brachs. You want to join me?"

VIP tour
"Could we go to the nursery please?" Eggs are eggs but babies...well, who doesn't love babies of any species? She knows some of them will grow up very big and very scary but for now, they're cute scaly babies.

As she walks, Kira continues her spiel, discussing the facility and the nature of the particular dinosaurs they're going to see.

"How's it going so far?'
Smooth, she can only hope.

"So far, so good. The regular tours have been restricted to walk throughs, only looking and no touching, but I've been handling the VIPs and so far no one's tried to do anything awful. That's good, right?"

And also, Stiles seems to hang out around here quite a bit. She'd never admit it, but she finds the bantering refreshing. And here is more of a neutral ground, less obvious than her going to his paddock.
He's not here, though. And she sees what Kira is doing as she makes her way inside the hatchery. Lydia rolls her eyes and shakes her head, her heels clicking loudly on the ground as she makes her ways to check on the eggs first.
"Are you planning on tracking them down and hand-feeding them when they're released, too?"
Re: 3
"Hmm? Of course not. But the babies are adjusted to a certain level of dependency up to a certain age point. And it's already been documented that the eggs respond positively to stimuli." She smiles a touch, and shrugs her shoulders. "I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, though."

So here she is, late at night, creeping in to watch the eggs as they sleep--well, maybe wait is a better word. As they wait to be born. And, like the woman who is currently singing to them, Shiro can't wait for them to be born.
"You think they can hear you in there?"

So today, he comes up to the fence, not trying to climb over or stick anything through because he's not an idiot, and respecting the animals and their handler should be everyone's top priority. Truth be told, Gene's real interest lies with different dinosaurs, but the baby herbivores are definitely cute.
"They seem to really like you."

She looks up mid-feeding, not altogether surprised to find someone there, but maybe a little surprised to see it's Gene.
"Oh, you think?" she asks with a smile. "Well, these little guys will be ready for general release in not too long. Who knows, maybe I'll be allowed to go visit them, see if they remember me. Though it would suck if I tried to be all Christian the Lion and they ended up trampling me in their enthusiasm, right?"

She knows Kira just as an assistant, a lower-level employee still in training, and hides a yawn with one hand as she raises the other in greeting. "Don't get up unless you've got news for me."

Allison was a different person when she entered the nursery...gone was the wild card merc and in her place was a warm, soft-hearted young woman whose only oddity was her love affair with things that had reptilian skin and fangs that could rend her extremities to bits without care.
Right now, she was making a beeline for the raptor pen, not far off from where Kira was feeding Bonk, Smash, and Crunch. Almost immediately, one raptor broke away and dashed to the edge of the corral to greet Allison with a shriek.
"There's my pretty baby!" she cooed, reaching in to stroke the velociraptor's head. "How's my Duchess? Is you my good baby? Yeeees, you're my good baby! Look at how big you're getting, and see those pretty little talons!..."
Glancing back at Kira over her shoulder, Allison flashed the other girl a sunny smile. "How are the triplets there? Christ, they're growin' like weeds."

Kira stops what she's doing - sure, the anlyosaurii are cute, but she also has to be careful of those tails. Getting hit by those clubs hurt. She starts making her way to the edge of their pen with intent of heading toward the raptors'.
"She's not a poodle. She'll take your hand off, if you're not careful."
She wouldn't be doing her job if she didn't offer this caution.

He grins at her when he spots her by one of the large incubators and he tosses her the bag of gummy worms. "I brought something for every variation of taste buds. Sour -- " He nods at the gummy worms, then holds up the canteen. "Bitter black coffee. Salty." He shakes the bag of pretzels. Then he tosses her one of the Butterfingers. "And sweet. I hear it's gonna be a long night." He drops into a chair beside her and peers into the incubator, studying the eggs.
"What've we got tonight?" He's not as familiar with the eggs and what they look like if they're not raptors. He hasn't taken the time to learn the rest of them. The pack keeps him pretty busy.

Absently she pushes back at a lock of her hair as she studies Stiles absently. She hasn't seen a lot of him because he's been out with his pack, and while she misses hanging out with him, she understands the dedication to his work. She has the same ethic, even if she doesn't have a pack. Well. Isn't supposed to have one.
She lets out a sigh. "You know those three anklyosaurii that hatched a few months ago? The ones that are going to be free range and got kept for observation for a bit?"

Showtaro assumes there's a skeleton crew awake at this hour, but it's much easier to get into the back rooms of the nursery now than it would be during the day....

She looks up at the sound of a lock rattling. That's weird. Getting to her feet, she moves to investigate the noise.

So she is very eager to engage with someone more interesting, somewhere more interesting. She glances to her left, and her smile turns charmingly sheepish. "I'm sure everyone wants to see infant dinosaurs first, and I am absolutely not going to break from that mold."

"We have a trio of baby anklyosaurs that are almost ready to be moved into the wild. They're a good example of herbivores who are well prepared to deal with the harsher elements of their environment if you'd like to meet them. There's also some baby brachs who are tall enough that you could see if they'll come to their feeding station if you don't mind the stair climb. And of course, there are the raptor pens. Those are closed off from contact, but they're always fascinating to watch."

Hoping she doesn't spot him, Scott heads for an empty end of the table, and immediately pulls from his beer and picks at his fries. He has no idea how they've managed to get shit nutrition with all this untouched earth around them.
sooooo late BUT #1
He's actually pretty excited about this tour; yeah, it's supposed to be for work, but there's something in him that feels like a kid, and he's got his sketchbook tucked under his work notebook for a reason, too. When Kira gives him an option of where to go, he considers carefully, then decides, "The East Wing, please?" Why not start at the very beginning, right?
4
He spots Kira straight away, and four weeks has been long enough for him to figure out that there is a girl who will humour his excitable desire to talk about some heady combination of cars and dinosaurs for hours at a time. He drops into the chair opposite her, all boneless grace and nervous energy, and hunches forward over his drink.
"Hey, you been out of the nursery long?"
