Well. That was wretched.
Apologies for, well, everything Hildebrand said and did in his time here. Pardon my language, but what an arsehole. I've never been so happy to be born a woman in all my life, and that includes when I couldn't vote.
Still. Back to normal service now. I'll be about.
[Private to Abigail]
Got a sharp right hook, haven't you? Let's get some dinner.

Moment of your time, love?

[Hilda's available in her normal haunts - the Infirmary, the Library, sometimes a bench on deck for knitting or reading.
Sometimes she also leaves the Enclosure door open a crack, and anyone wandering in might encounter the small 21st century town of Greendale, or the streets of 1830s London. She's feeling nostalgic.]

[ Bucky didn't fare quite as badly as Hilda apparently did, but he is relieved to look like himself. ]
Re: Private
Nothing! Nothing.
I just - noticed that you've become Zelda's permanent warden?
Re: Private
Is that going to be a problem?
Private

[ At this point, he's well aware of Hilda's power. It won't stop him from trying to be as good a warden as he can be, but. He's also not dumb enough to ignore a warning when he gets one.
Maybe not do anything with it. But definitely not pretend it ain't there. ]

[ Abigail doesn't respond, but moments later she comes creeping into the infirmary, not so much chastened as deeply, deeply annoyed and humiliated. ]
Hilda.

"There you are, love." Hilda looks up from the teacup she's stirring, tilts her head. "You don't seem too badly off, I assume you, ah - worked out the conditions in good time?"

"That wretched, reed-cocked, disgusting—"
By now Abigail is almost accustomed to the horrifying sensation of the frog coming up and it doesn't even slow her down. The frog lands on Hilda's desk with a wet flop.
"—high-handed monster—"
Another frog joins the first, and they start to hop away.
"—Christ!"

It's not a fighting arena this time, it's a grubby old city with cobblestone streets and brick buildings. It makes him think of old pictures of Tanith Attica, from when it had just started out. So he goes in, peering around at the buildings and the people.

The people are only present in the occasional advertisement or newspaper - Hilda takes these environments unpopulated, simply because it seems a bit weird to summon unreal people simply for authenticity's sake.
It also makes random visitors very easy to spot, as she does when she rounds a corner and sees another body.
"Oh-! Hello, there."

"This is London, pet. In England. On Earth," she adds, helpfully. "I lived here for a little while."

Hilda doesn't populate her Enclosure environments with anything except the local wildlife, so the call is very clear even though Zelda's right at the boundaries of earshot. She teleports to her sister's side, landing a few paces away, and offers a smile.
"Zelda! Come in."
She reaches out a hand.
no subject
"How did you manage to..." Zelda looks around, obviously dazed. "Where are we?"
no subject
"Oh, haven't you been up here before?" Hilda wonders. "This is called the Enclosure. Needs a warden item, but you can ask it to...you know, pretend to be places."
no subject
"No, Hilda," there is an edge to her voice, one that just comes naturally, "I have not been up here, as I am not a warden and I was unaware such a phenomenon existed."

[Him being Bucky; Steve maybe saw Buck's communicator flash with a message on the table. He doesn't sound bothered; he mostly sounds bemused, if still a little serious.
And definitely serious when he adds,] I'm sorry that happened to you.
Private
As if I'd need a shovel.
...Thank you, love. I know it's inevitable that some of these things are going to get under the skin.
Re: Private
That's true, I don't think you would.
I did tell your sister she can talk to me if she can't talk to him. I don't know that she'll take me up on it, but - same goes for you.
Yeah, but - there's getting under your skin, and there's worse.
Re: Private
Mm. How did it treat you, love?
[not deflecting at all!!]
Re: Private
[No, of course not.]
Me? It left me alone.
[Does he sound relieved? Yeah, kinda.]
I, uh, had a wife instead of a husband for a couple days, though.
