Shits happening, again. And it's maybe sabotage? At least that's what the Admiral says, but... whatever.

[He shrugs]

My point is, the Admiral wants wardens to investigate their inmates. And maybe interrogate them. I don't have an inmate, but I do have experience with these things, so if you need assistance, I'll be glad to help.

Oh man- uh, sorry, you're new, but you're gonna learn in a hurry that people are well short of where the Admiral is with regards to inmates.

How so?

There's a lot of treating them mostly as peers and letting them live up to your faith in them.

That sounds nice. Probably better than constant suspicion.

Yeah, so. Grab an unpaired inmate and ask them if they'd like to help you hunt?

Then if you're moving around with them you can low key ask sneaky questions if you feel like it, but it'd probably get you more ground.

Interrogations without a truthsayer present where I'm from usually do resort to torture.

It's not unknown where I come from, either. But I don't do that shit.

I'm not sure how effective that would be? But you're welcome to try, if you want.

Interrogation can be quite effective, if used right. But I'm not going to just grab people at random and start asking questions. Just if someone has suspicions.

I'm aware of how effective interrogation can be. [His voice is clipped, tight with an annoyance bordering on anger.] But this isn't a remotely normal situation, even ignoring the current upheaval.

It's not a bad urge? But I'm pretty certain a lot of people here aren't going to react well to the idea of being interrogated. Also, there's the question of what would count as "suspicions."

If people think someone is acting suspicious, if it seems connected to whatever is going on, that's reason to ask questions, at least. I haven't been here long enough to know what's suspicious, so I'm not going to go around accusing people.

As opposed to what, their normal baseline of suspicious?
