2nd Retelling: Video & Spam

[Mikodez is sitting in the art room, a bowl of candies to his left. He’s working as he talks, a feathered fishing lure taking shape under steady fingers. The beads are small enough to make it a good test for his coordination.]
I’ve been thinking about power. Not in a philosophical sense, I think it’s better if I leave the moral complexity questions for others. There have been various discussions about the power people have here, for good or bad or... neutral. The immediacy of it draws people’s attention.
As, ah, important as those discussions are, I’m interested in a slightly different question. Would you say that back when you were in a ‘real’ world, you had power?
Did, or does, it matter?

[Mikodez can frequently be found in the art room, either creating something or working on his slate. He also visits the spa, methodically going through the nail polish; takes meals in the dinning room that tend to consist mostly of sugar; explores the library, apparently aimlessly; and he can’t resist the urge to play games.
Late in the barge night, he frequently wanders the corridors or paces the deck, tapping an absent tune on the railing.]
If he sometimes runs into a creature with his face, but whose dark eyes are empty of any warmth... He learned how to laugh at himself a long time ago..]

Okay, so what are we defining 'real' as?
That can be a tricky word to nail down, but in this context I might say, the world you came from before arriving on the barge.
Okay, so what we know as our normal. ... So what if your normal can make this seem ... not that weird?
Taking the barge as normal, the question remains about power. Did you have any? Has it transferred over?

We also don't have much unemployment. Not as I understand how it manifests on Earth. You are from a version of Earth?

[Of course it does. That's one of the most intolerable things about this place, for Hux]

That's a framework of power that would require a lot of modification to mean anything here.

So I've been made aware.
It might not be as flashy as actual superhuman powers, but it meant something.

After all, the difference between soldier and general isn't about who can shoot better. Hopefully. I don't know how your army was set up.
