I have a request to make of you, if you'll hear it.

[A few days (and a little over a hundred pages) after he's assigned as Pitch's warden, Horatio decides to throw caution to the wind, and go speak to his inmate without having finished reading his file. He goes to send him a message over the network, then realises the obvious reason why this would be pointless, and instead, heads down to the inmate's cabin, to knock on his door.]

Some time ago, Cold asked if I would accompany him and Furiosa when he visited his home world. I would-- very much like to go, but I've just been assigned a new inmates, and I also don't want to be negligent in my duties here.

That's my request, I wonder if you would be kind enough to watch over my inmate's well being, if I leave the ship for a few days.

Sure.

Who's your inmate and what do you want me to do in the name of watching over him? Anything besides make sure he's safe, resurrected if he gets killed, and try to make sure that doesn't happen?

I miss my girlfriend the most.

But I'm glad to have a few friends here, I guess. Other than that I really don't like this place.

Only just got here, but I miss my fighter already. Sure, we're on a ship now, but it's not really any different from being grounded -- or being stuck on an empty flight deck.

As for the things I've found ... Funny story, actually; I've been trying to track down a guy -- pretty important guy, actually -- across half the galaxy. Turns out he's been right here, right on this weird little ship.

Sort of, anyway. It's a little complicated and I don't imagine it counts for much of anything, but I'm trying to take some satisfaction in it anyway. Get it where you can, you know?

Your fighter? That's a kind of ship? [Something he is only getting from the context of everything else you've said. Also, grounded?] An air-ship?

And I would say that you should draw a lot of satisfaction from that! As it becomes increasingly apparent to me that the universe is infinitely large, the chances of finding anyone who we're looking for anywhere in it, are the result of wild good fortune.
