There's a--
[Piano. A grand piano, in fact, in the middle of Verso's cabin. The cabin itself isn't large by any means and the piano has been expertly angled to sit directly in the middle of the largest area of available space.
And Verso is... more than a little baffled, honestly.]
Who put this here. And how am I supposed to-- [The camera tilts as he touches the instrument and it... vanishes, wisping into grey smoke.]
Oh. [That's not disappointment. That's the sound of someone realising something.] That's how.
[A beat, then muttered just before the video cuts.]
Maelle, I swear, if this was something to do with you...

[Later on, he'll be on deck, as far to the bow of the Barge as he can get. He has the piano there too, definitely the same one he was puzzling over earlier...
How did it get up there? If someone gets there around the same time he does, they'll be able to see. Verso finds an open space, makes a small gesture as if he's playing invisible keys, and the piano simply... appears around him, with the bench behind his legs, in much the same way it had vanished on the video earlier.
He seems quite pleased - if still perplexed - with this development.]

You think you can play 'Heart and Soul?'
no subject
[He doesn't know what that is.]
no subject
I'm sure it's in the library? Honestly, I can't read piano music, I don't really know what I'd be looking for, but it's the sort of song that everybody plays on a piano when they see one.
no subject
I would expect it's the piece of sheet music with the title of the song written across the top.
[Just... saying.]
no subject
[ There's a moment before he decides, ]
You'll just have to meet me in the library and help me find it.
[ yes, Verso. You are being drafted into nonsense. ]

When he finds him, watching as the instrument materializes, his eyes flash with blue before they return to normal, adjusting the strap on his backpack before he approaches.]
Excuse me, but may I ask some questions about your magic Piano?
Re: Spam
It isn't magic.
[Trails his fingers gently across the keys, playing a scale.]
But sure, go ahead.
Re: Spam
Oh? My mistake. I haven't been able to look at it yet, so I assumed. [He doesn't assume often, except when he does and it often turns out he's assumed wrong.]
What allows you to manifest it then?
no subject
It's created by something called Chroma, summoned using a Picto.
[Which is... somewhere on his body, probably. Never you mind where.]
And it appears to have been gifted to me. I suspect I know by who. [He doesn't mind, he supposes. It's nice to not be restricted to the gazebo.] You're Christopher, aren't you?

Truthfully, Gojyo doesn't specifically seek Verso out on this particular occasion - he means to reach out eventually, maybe with an offer to watch a new movie together - but right now it's pure coincidence that Verso happens to be up on deck just as Gojyo's heading out for a smoke since he feels like looking at the stars while smoking.
That... sure is a piano appearing out of thin air.
"It bonded to you or something?"
no subject
Something like that. He takes a seat on the bench.
As far as temp wardens following him around like stray puppies went, Gojyo had been mostly inoffensive. At least he hadn't been trying to force self-care or attempting to push him to talk - it definitely made his insistent presence more tolerable overall.
"Stay over there if you're smoking."
no subject
He stays silent after that, hoping that Verso will play something. Music is nice.
no subject
Then he starts playing, and there's a difference in how he plays here to anything he ever produced on the piano in the gazebo. The notes are more crisp; there's something about the sound like he's putting more into it.
Like he's more comfortable.

"What are you hiding for?"

She's rather quick to walk over, typing as she goes so that she's already offering her device by the time she's beside him and his piano.
I just
didn't want to interrupt.
no subject
Just shaking his head a little as soon as he reads what she wrote. There's a moment's pause, then he tilts his head and looks at her slightly sidelong.
"Did you have something to do with this?"

[Oh, he's putting on a voice.]
You wouldn't have done it without asking. And second... I never told you about this piano.
[And only Maelle has seen it.]

[Mildly, but it's just kind of interested.]
But it looks like it could be a very good way to practice anywhere.
no subject
[And it means he doesn't have to wait for the gazebo to be open or available in order to do anything in there. He has the one thing he went there for.]
Would you like to try it?
no subject
[Her eyes light up.]
I would like to. Very much.
no subject
[There's no real rush, he'll be there a while just enjoying the relative freedom of playing wherever the hell he wants.]
