Well, hello and welcome everyone, I have a bit of a surprise for y'all.
[She's standing in the dining hall, and behind her is...a food haul. She steps to the side, showing a horde of food. There's rice, canned foods, a lot of chocolate and...animal shaped bread? And it looks like buckets of food. And looks like tacos and burritos, as well as some liquor.
It's covered a few tables. She steps aside, and waves her hands at them.]
Went to San Fran because I wanted to. And since we haven't been to port, everything has felt like shit, I made sure to get all sorts of stuff while I was there.
So- well, kinda sorry Will, Red, for getting all sorts of stuff for the kitchen without heads up. I can keep it in my place if it's too much all of a sudden.
Y'all are welcome to come in to help yourself to the animal bread, and the treats. I got all sorts of stuff from the city. Bread is sourdough, by the way! Enjoy!
[How did she pay for it? Don't worry about it!]
I'm fine, really.
I got you a stupid snow globe. And the bottle of tequila.
I got you like...half a dozen kitten buns and two cat loaves. I couldn't resist.
You can thank me now for your burrito and everything else.
FYI, all the food is being preserved and can be reused. Nothing will go to waste. I will ensure that.
You ever had a birra taco?
I got you some local fare, specifically. It's not New York fare, but it's something unique, I promise. You and your wonderful poet.
So lad, I saw your post. What do you need for your kitchen?
I found some potatoes. Thought of you. Brought them on board. Want them?
I found some more sheet music for the piano. They're not as jaunty, if you'd like to look at them.
I know I lack some of the important bits and bobs, but want some company anyway?
Got you some cigarettes. Some alcohol. Figures it would be a good apology for pressing.
I brought you some postcards and photographs of the local beach, the terrain of San Francisco. It's not the same as the experience, but I thought it'd at least...be something.

[He has been incredibly home sick for months. And exiting the cabin he takes in a deep breath and is salivating.]
Oh my god... Did you go to the places on the list? I can smell the burritos, and fuck...birria tacos.
Sokie... [The way to a man's heart as they say...]

I went to all the places on the list. And some places not on the list! I couldn't just stick to Ghirardelli chocolate.

But I found them in this beautiful music store. You don't have to play them.

[Her voice is soft. Kind.]
I did get some wonderful animal shaped sourdough. Ones shaped like a crab, but I was assured it's kosher!

[He's not going to pretend they don't both know what it's about. But he wants to give her the option. To see if she'll be honest or not.]

Audio
[It's overly solemn in a way that's a clear tell for a joke.]
Private
Did the Admiral drop you off, or can you universe-hop on your own?
Re: Audio
[She's also serious. Very clearly a joke.]
Private
The Admiral gave me a ride. I haven't gotten such an ability. Not yet.

[Gojyo suspects he won't like them; he only likes his brand. But no need to say that.]
I mean, it's not like you held me at gunpoint. But I'm not complaining.
Re: Private
[It's something that she's trying. She offered a soft laugh.]
Well, if you don't mind it, then all the better. I'm not going to pin you down, asking answers, sunshine.

[ He is actually happiest about the rice and canned food- both had been running rather low lately, and it's an easy way to feed a lot of people in an emergency.
Boy, he wishes that wasn't an imminent concern. ]
Mind if I come by to start cataloging it? I can wait a day or two if you want to let everyone else peruse for favorites first.
no subject
But feel free. I figure people are going to go over the fun things- like the chocolate and bread- rather then the rice and canned items.
And oil. That's what the buckets are filled with.

Spam
[It's a completely noncommittal, vaguely curious, tone of voice, from a woman who's paused in the middle of eating turtle-shaped bread. When did she walk in here? Probably not that long ago. Probably.]
Any kind of theme you were following? Or just stuff you've been missing?
Re: Spam
Oh, not stuff I was missing. It was- all themed around a request from someone who lived in the area. He pointed me to all the places to go to.
[She offers a smile, all bland. Mind still in retreat? Most likely. Would Poppy realize? Even more likely!]
Though the basic food supplies- the canned goods, oil, rice- that was all me. I was in a situation that meant scant supplies before, so I like covering my basis.

Appreciate you taking the effort to go get some nice shit for folk.
Even if we end up at a port in the nearish future, there's certainly no promise of sourdough.
[Which happens to be a weakness of his, and something that there's no really good way to replicate without the proper starters, which of all the things he's collected over the years, remains out of stock.
Sweeney is very pleased by Sokie's offerings, and is delighted to see her, when they're delivered.]
no subject
[When she comes with her delivery, it is from an impossibility small looking bag that is sparkly, woven, and is capable of disgorging large items, such as buckets of oil.
She pauses in her sorting to smile up at Sweeney, her eyes a far more vivid green, and generally sparking with vitality.]
Big man. Goodness I've missed you.
[She had. His presence is a steady anchor.]
Want some good news of the sourdough kind?
