[To be back here feels... strange. But also right, in a way that's similar to returning to an old favorite restaurant after a really long time away. One of those family-run types, where they remember your name and your favorite drink. Maybe even your favorite place to sit, while eating. But there's always something a little wrong with the food. Bread just a little too hard, or signs that your pasta was almost sitting too long. Sticky fly traps set up just shy of being out of view...
... Yet it's somehow still a place you feel comfortable in.
Jamil doesn't actually expect to see much of anyone from his last time here, so... time for introductions. He doubts there's much he could do to make a perfect first impression, either. Hello. My name's Jamil, I'm 23 years old, and I'm your newest warden. Years ago, I started here as an inmate, and many people helped me reach the point of graduation. After leaving the Barge, I went on to graduate college, open a bakery, and get married.
Aside from culinary, I specialize in magic and hand-to-hand combat. If anyone needs help in any of those areas, and doesn't already have someone assisting them, I'll be happy to tell you or show you all I know.

Hythlodaeus - I like that name. [Unique names are fun.] And I was here for about a year and a half. While I was here, I mostly worked in the kitchen, and then I built the Cat Therapy room.

You've certainly been busy! How's Azul? How was the wedding?

[That's a mixture of disbelief and... actually some genuine delight! Great Seven, he somehow hadn't expected this many, so far, to be familiar faces!]
Wow, that makes... four of you, so far! [Five after Iris' post. He hasn't even seen the cafeteria list yet.] And the wedding was... overwhelming, but in a fun way. I didn't expect his family to be so...

Encouraging, actually. His mother practically jumped at being able to call me her son, and that's not even getting started on Azul's childhood friends, Floyd and Jade. They haven't stopped teasing... or pulling the occasional prank!
[He's so glad they aren't here. This Barge would know even less peace!]
Aside from that, Azul's thriving in the business world, and... we're maybe starting on the adoption process. Then my business is doing well - I picked up some new recipes for some really nice pastries, if you'd like to come to my cabin sometime and try them with some coffee or tea. We could swap stories!
[She was always one of the more fun people, so he's very curious to know what all has changed.]
