V. Video
[The video is of Stolas sitting on the edge of his king bed - both hands are visible, one glowing purple-blue with a matching glow limning the edges of the video.
Apart from the fact Stolas's loose double-breasted vest is hanging off one shoulder, the black shirt beneath half-unbuttoned - he's still acting professional and regally poised.]
I regret to have to add to the list of names currently concerning people, but it seems that Blitz has also fallen into a coma.
[He makes an apparently idle gesture, and the camera swings around, revealing the rest of the bed - and Blitz, in a three-horse-moon t-shirt and black boxers, sprawled out like a collapsed ragdoll.]
I plan on looking after him for the immediate future. That is all.

[Private]
Coming over to see him.
Re: [Private]
Re: [Private]
[god, he feels strange being bowed to. Trevor signs off, and goes knocking at Stolas' door in the meantime]
Re: [Private]
I do apologise for not informing you sooner, Trevor. [He lets the human walk in, and his own hands fold over his chest to start wringing anxiously.] I just wanted to make sure he was alright, first.
Re: [Private]
He gives a short nod up at the bird demon, walking in]
S'fine.
You want him here? Might be weird sleeping next to him when he's like this.

Re: private
Re: private
It's not something we have made a point to discuss previously, no.
Re: private
Re: private
Re: private
You'll forgive me if I don't have a huge amount of faith in your ability to objectively consider his needs when yours are involved.
Re: private
Re: private
I don't think you'll injure him, Dummkopf. But I object to your unilateral decision to keep him in your room without discussing it with his warden or myself as if he might not have made such a decision and shared it with either of us.
It doesn't speak well to your priorities.
Re: private
[He loves Blitz. He also acknowledges Blitz is a bit stupid, especially when it comes to his own wellbeing.]
Re: private
How often do you concern yourself with the other people in his life, exactly?
Re: private
Re: private
'His little coworkers'... Allfather, how do you manage to not to walk into walls.
Re: private
Do you actually want to see Blitz or are you simply set on insulting me, because quite frankly I am not in the fucking mood.
Re: private
[ And frankly, if he did, he'd be tempted to abscond with him. Temptation must be managed.]
As I said, I don't think you'll harm his unconscious body. You just aggravate me. In so very many ways. Especially around how you treat him.
Re: private
Re: private
And what does any of that have to do with the price of fish in Mittengelt?
[ Ugggh. ]
Where in any of that did I proclaim him to be a perfect saint who has never done something cruel or thoughtless to you? Do you think his mistakes give you rights to also be a jackass?
Re: private
Re: private
That's what you're fixated on?
Re: private
It's not about Florian being human, it's about him being better. That for the first time in his life Stolas has found someone that makes him happy - wholly, uniquely, selfishly, after spending his whole life being what everyone else wanted him to be. That he has finally found something, someone that he wants for himself - and frankly, that he doesn't even mind sharing, because that's the nature of their relationship, this fragile transactionary arrangement - to learn that not only is he perfectly replacable, but that he's apparently not even sufficient as a replacement. Risking his station, his entire life apparently, in loving someone who didn't consider him worth the fucking bother.
Stolas just sighs, and there's a faint slit of white in his red eyes as his jaw works, his pupils making a brief appearance in the near-blinding glow of his eyes.]
Please disregard that, herr Leickenbloom.
Re: private
He knows better now and he hates that knowledge at times. He hates that no one here has done anything worthy of his worst and that their need, their wounds, cry out to his best.
He rubs his face with both hands before he sighs.]
Noted.
The question is, Stolas: do you want to know why?
Re: private
[And in his mind that's more or less a full, damning sentence.]
Re: private
I'm not attempting to lord over you, Stolas.
I am asking you if you would like advice.
Re: private
I'd be honoured to hear anything you're willing to part with.
Re: private
Think about it. Think about it and use every ounce of that clever mind on the task.

[People have been vanishing and dropping like flies lately.]
You need anyone to bring anything? Books? Food? Company?
private;
he has the good sense not to pick a fight right nowhe knows what it's like for a warden to disappear, sort of. He can easily imagine how much worse it would feel if he hadn't graduated first. Having someone close to him immediately get knocked out after? It's like insult along with fresh injury.]If you need-- You probably have plenty of people saying they'll help 'if you need anything' but. If you want to go to the Enclosure to visit somewhere you like, or visit the Enclosure to blow stuff up, or go to the Lounge for better drinks if you like those...
I'm Edwin. I have other ideas too. I can say them until something feels right if you want.
no subject
And... he thinks he might have an idea of just who this guy is.]
Fucking hell. [Muttered, first, before he exhales sharply through his nose.] You're Stolas, right?
no subject
I am, yes. I... don't believe we've had the pleasure to meet yet. I can only assume you're a friend of Blitz's?
no subject
['Friends' as an actual concept is still a bit weird, okay. And... wow, that sure is four eyes blinking. He can't help a moment of staring, though with how used to Blitz's appearance he is now he does at least try not to make it obvious.]
Is he-.. okay? I mean, obvious aside.
no subject
no subject
Yeah, sounds like it. [From what he knows of stasis, in any case.] So, what, it just fuckin'... happens. Hasn't been that long since I saw him.
no subject
[He pauses, takes a visible breath, and settle his ruffled feathers down with one hand in a smooth glide down his neck.]
My former warden happened to fall into stasis mid-conversation with me.
no subject
[Give him a second with that. He rubs one hand over his face.
(One (1) new fear unlocked.)
Cain pauses, then as if he realises something he fumbles the device in his hands and switches the conversation to 'private'. For all the good it will do, he's at least only concerned about a surface level of privacy.]
Figure he'll be fine with you. Don't tell him I was worried.
Private
no subject
But he is a little... surprised? Given what they had talked about he hadn't expected Stolas to be quite like this, at least not when it came to Blitz. He seems so... composed.]
He gone down like this before?
Private
September seems to be taking quite a toll. How are you holding up?
Is there anything I can do for you? I don't mind stopping by the library for you, bring some books by to pass the time?
