08:30 - 09:00 - breakfast at a cafe (likely choices include XXXXXX)
09:30 - 10:00 - first look at the shops, prioritizing the book shops and apothecaries
10:30 - 12:00 - within the library of the college here
12:30 - 01:00 - lunch at one of the pubs and/or taverns (determined by proximity to required shops)
01:30 - 02:30 - back to the library
03:00 - 05:00 - last look at the shops, returning to find deals and picking up any holds as needed
05:30 - 06:30 - dinner at the most likely and appealing tavern or restaurant
07:00 - 09:00 - drinks at the same
09:30 - 10:00 - notes, personal work, and wind down in my inn room

[ Florian has been learning Charter marks like a starving man and has already started taking notes on ways to integrates the concepts with his current practices. ]

[He paused a long time while trying to think of that word.]

[He puts down his communicator and addresses him properly for the first time.]

Oh! That reminds me. I got a new coat and I quite like it. Can we make it fireproof so I don't ruin it when I'm out with Emet?

['We,' obviously in this case, means Florian.]

[ He looks up from his studies and holds out a hand. ]

Give it here and fetch the sewing kit.

[He brings both items back and sits at Florian's feet, happy enough to observe. The coat is much like his own, only it's trimmed in silver. Willingly bringing in some color to his wardrobe has been a process, but a productive one.]

[ Florian will nod and take the items, then start looking at the coat to see how many different material types there are. Once he's satisfied, he's pulling out a few items from his bag to use in the work, including a small bit of silk. Then he's sewing tiny sigils in a few different spots and he uses the silk on the inside, near the chest, using a bit of magic to sink it below the surface of the lining, between it and the outer layer. Then huffing slightly, he'll hold up his hand and bring a flame to it, testing the sleeve with some satisfaction before holding it out for Johann. ]

[He takes the coat and runs his fingers along it, through the new stitching in the side. Remarkably, he kept his attention on Florian for most of it, watching the way his fingers moved through it.]

I'll test it later.

[No sense in starting a fire here.]

I'm going out. More books? Are you eating today?

At some point, surely. I had coffee earlier.

There is, unfortunately, too much to be done for me to spend all my time looking for him.

I have a spell to locate specific creatures. I could search for him that way, safely.

Chesial is not the best Charter mage out there, but is has been studying the Charter for most of his life. Also, he is a nosy brat sometimes, despite being the Abhorsen-In-Waiting. So with all these new people digging into the magic he knows so well in the city, and with nothing really better to do, he pokes his nose into that magic digging.

"Are you looking for books for beginners or something at a higher level?" he asks the pretty stranger poking at compilations of Charter marks. Nevermind that he's never been in this library before, and it's much bigger than even the Abhorsen's library, so he's faking feeling confident about the place with all he's got.

He's clearly Chase, albeit a very pale version dressed like a local, and he doesn't seem to recognize Florian. But he's butting in anyway.

Florian looks up, then looks up a second time... and there's a faintly amused expression on his lips, curling only at the corners. After a moment, he'll offer a bow of his head with a flourish of his hand.

"While I would bow to a learned scholar native to this city, I would say my interests lay more in advanced work. The basics appear relatively simple."

I heard they have magic here that anyone can do.

I figured you'd know, if they do.

They do. I came prepared with plenty to trade and I've been buying up supplies and books both for learning and lending. Their magical system is *very* interesting. Simple enough to understand, but there's certainly an art to it. Knowing the right marks is a key component, however, so I've done my best to seek out compilations of marks for extended study.

What about you?

I'm working to get what resources I can for it.

I think it might complement Hunter's sigil magic.

We should brainstorm with what when find.
