[Spam for Malcolm]
When Neal wakes up, his cabin feels different. It's an instant sensation, instinctive, born from years of making himself intimately familiar with the spaces he decides to call home. He doesn't know how it's different, he just knows it is, and it makes his skin prickle with apprehension. Then he gets up.
And he has a kitchen.
Or rather, he has his apartment's kitchenette, which has always served him well enough. He stares at it, muzzy and confused, and then realizes that the door just past it that leads to his bathroom is also newly present.
"No way."
He beelines for it, oblivious to the cookies on the breakfast table, and whoops when he finds his massive marble shower and bath there and stocked to his preference.
He did it. He did it?? Did the Admiral actually listen to him??
Whatever, he's taking a bath.
[Audio; Later, Filtered to Wardens who were Inmates]
If one is a Warden who was at one point an Inmate, how worried should that Warden be about a target on their back for the first month or so after that... happens.[Audio; Filtered to Malcolm, Norton, Shaw, Eiffel, Raylan, Reid, John (the Pure Sweet Floaty One), Kiryu, Trixie, and Maggie]
Okay I know I was unhappy but I also don't know if I am at all ready to do this.[He's too frazzled to clarify what 'this' is, because in this particular moment it seems VERY OBVIOUS to him.]

[There's a pause.]
Not an intentional murder spree. There was a port that fucked with our heads and half the ship basically lost our minds. But it still happened.
Really, though, it's pretty common that people come back to warden after being an inmate. I'd say, I don't know, forty percent? And I haven't really heard of anybody being targeted.
Re: Audio, former inmate filter
[This place is. Something.]
Yeah? That's good. I can't imagine an inmate suddenly becoming a guard would go well anywhere else.

That's good though. I didn't expect to--well, I didn't expect to graduate. Maybe in general, but not now.

Men have done better with far worse, I have no doubt.

Well that was a lot of compliments all at once, and there weren't any qualifiers paired with them. It comes him down by virtue of surprise.]
Wardening. I mean, odds are good I won't be given charge of an inmate any time soon, but I don't even... I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't even know what I did.

Is there anyone you're especially worried about, based on recent history?
I take it congratulations are in order, but also that you aren't ready for them yet.

Thanks. I. Yeah.

I mean, I was when I got the tub, and the kitchen, but I thought--I don't know what I'm doing, I don't even know what I did.

Then two, tell me whether this means graduating or something else, because holy shit, Neal.

[Right, wait, breathing. After a moment.]
Graduation. Yeah.

I wouldn't be very worried. It might change the dynamic with some of your friends who are still inmates, but I've never seen anyone get hazed or assaulted over graduation. There are mixed feelings a lot of the time, though, for the graduate and the other inmates.
Former inmate filter
...I was afraid of that. The... dynamic change. I mean, it's inevitable, I just... [A soft exhale.]

It takes him a few minutes to reply though, because he takes some time to pull himself together and stop shaking in relief because no matter what else happens, at least Neal will live. If he vanishes, if he leaves, if he discovers that Norton has more murder in his past than Neal is comfortable with, at least he'll be alive.
By the time Norton does turn on his communicator, he's perfectly composed although the happiness is obvious in his voice.]
Darling, you're going to be a magnificent warden.

What if I get assigned to a Johann? What if I'm scared of my own inmate? I can't be scared of them if I want them to trust me.

Well, look at you. Took my advice to heart, huh?
Don't worry yourself. Half of being a warden is just not being a shitty person to other folks, the other half is listening to the inmates. As you well-fucking-know already, so you got a leg up.
Re: Private; Audio
I'm just... worried. About how a couple of my friends will feel about it.

Malcolm Spam Spam Eggs and Spam
This morning Neal isn’t there.
He drops everything - almost literally; he leaves it scattered on the counter - and runs down to where Neal’s door should be………… and still is. He frowns at it and then bangs on it.
