More Joy Weekend



[personal profile] sdwolfpup has declared Friday 12 January to be More Joy Day but that doesn't work well with my RL stuff, so I am opting for More Joy Weekend. If there are More Joy stuff you'd like from me, please let me know and I will try to get that posted over the weekend (or early if I have time earlier).

I am taking the loosest possible definition of weekend here, by the way.

I also bought some DW points in the December sale so if anyone wants paid time, let me know, I can also More Joy Paid Time to folks.

How about some More Joy in the form of a meta post about one of your earliest fandoms that you still love - like a promo post, share the love as if you were trying to drag some of us into it with you.

Okay maybe this will be the week I write the In Defense Of Wesley Crusher post I've been brewing ever since I found out that people hate Wesley so much.

Trying to drag people into Star Wars would be, I think, irresponsible of me. :P

(But Dark Luke was such a nice place except for the BNF who tried to run me out of it)

Oh dear, not sure I have anything specific. Really I most enjoy the slice-of-life-ness of it all. Hm. I was fascinated by the brief reference to what Komarran immigrants are likely to name their children, for instance. Or are there Komarran musicians who specialize in non-Komarran styles, new or old? (Or non-Komarran musicians who specialize in Komarran music...) Or someone else in Gregor's life encounters Komarran radio. Or (less fluffy) five times Duv Galeni imagined saying "I'm not Komarran. Komarrans don't [fill in the blank]," inspired by Gregor's catchphrase.
Or whatever comes to mind. No worries if you're not in the mood at the moment.

These are all GREAT ideas and last night in bed (it was an insomnia night alas), I was like "omg you know who is also alone and on Komarr? EKATERIN" and then I sketched out something on google docs full of terrible spellings and such because phones don't have real keyboards anymore, so we will see what happens.
