The Little Prince/Doctor Who?

The Little Princess is the one with Sarah Crewe, whose dad dies while she's in boarding school and they put her to work as a servant, thereby revealing the flimsiness of class and wealth and how precarious a sense of safety can be in childhood and that parental death can cause you untold harm, and then she gets rescued by a friend of her dad's, right?

In which case, Sarah has grown up and is working as a French translator, and also I just rererereread and realized you said The Little Prince, not the Little Princess, and all I know about the little prince is that there's a small planet and a fox and "you are forever responsible for what you tame", which may not all be the little prince, SO:

Sarah Crewe is working as a French translator and runs into the TARDIS one day, where she finds a talking fox, and she goes on time traveling adventures, and she tames the fox, and the fox is actually her poor friend from school because Doctor Who Reasons, and they're lesbians.

I was actually thinking about suggesting the little princess or secret garden, so you must have read my mind! Also, your summary is impeccable.

I want to comment something intelligent but the idea of Sarah Crewe and a talking fox going on time-travelling adventures with a side-plot of friends-to-lovers femslash (and maybe some identity porn) is so delightful that I'll just sit here smiling instead.

C3PO destroys his governor module.

...I was going to leave that there and be like "yeah I think that covers all of it" but also, just, please, consider: C3PO destroys his governor module, keeps doing his job for the rest of the trilogy, and then, at the end, joins the ewoks in their polyamorous socialist scientific utopia on Endor.

Sad version: Javert is a SecUnit who never is rid of his governor module until the very end, when he recoils in horror, writes out a letter to his superiors, and then powers down.

Not sad version: Murderbot shows up at the barricades and shows off the guns in its arms. Client retrieval from their own stupidity is its specialty, and manages a 100% extraction rate. Then they go to the opera.

*clutches heart* Oh, Javert! That's beautiful in the best worst way.

As for Murderbot at the barricade, between it and Valjean they could definitely carry every-damn-body out of there, some of them kicking and screaming as needed. And then go to the opera.

I am still thinking of the Javert idea I threw to you on my post where he never hacks his governor module, but it's bugged from the beginning, so he didn't experience pain or shutdown - he just got an error message whenever he did something 'wrong', and corrected - but since SecUnits never talk to each other, he never realized he had more choice than the others until he met an actual rogue.

I like your second version here better. I'll go with that one.

1a) How does Ivan come to own a bar;
1b) Is this related to his accidental disappearance; and
1c) Is he staying right where he is, thank you, no he is not coming home.

So somewhere in scrivener, I have a beginning of a Ivan Vorpatril and Wen Ning meet in a bar drabble. So let's go with that: Ivan and Wen Ning meet in a bar and talk about their respective maniacs.

They have a good time and meet up again the next night and the next and eventually Ivan's bar tab grows so great that he decides the cheapest way to deal with it is to buy the bar (it makes sense at the time; it wasn't Ivan's fault that he forgot to change his cash into the local currency! okay yes, it was his fault). So Ivan now owns a bar.

And owning a bar is great! No one expects him to get involved in anything, since he has a bar and bar things to deal with, there's a lot of responsibility! (okay not that much responsibility, he hires folks to do the responsible things), and he has to make sure they get good booze and food from their suppliers, and all that, so he has a ready excuse when someone comes to try to drag him home. And he can hang out and drink all the time, since, hey, he owns a bar! Win win win scenario.

Is the bar on Barrayar or someplace else? Can Gregor just drop in (relatively) unannounced and the regulars just pretend they don't notice anything weird? Does Alys drop in and evaluate the decor and clinetele? Does Ivan suddenly despair of it becoming a Vor bar. (Vor bar-ah, get it? I am so drunk right now, btw.)

Guardian/Nirvana in Fire (Or MDZS/NIF if desired)

Dixing and Haixing are neighboring kingdoms, and there is some kind of Jingrui's Birthday Party shenanigans where MCS arranges things where Ye Zun takes off his mask and Shen Wei discovers his long lost twin brother he's been searching for all this time.

Somehow this helps Jingyan. I don't know. Maybe this gets Shen Wei to give Jingyan some kind of helpful Dixing support, either political or magical?

Lol, Jingrui's birthday parties will never be drama free, I love it.

Cthulhu Mythos/Agents of SHIELD?

I know only the barest minimum of those since I got nowhere in Shield, so, in the show that Agents of Shield should have been, where it was actually about the day to day life working in shield, they have to go to the cthulhu kingdom under the sea because of fishing rights negotiations with, idk, aquaman? Does aquaman do that? They're doing interagency stuff with State and probably several others; Shield is just there because anything non-human is totally their domain of expertise, including mindbending cthulhu stuff.

Ward is eaten first, because all I remember of agents of shield is I hated Ward.

Which Timelord Doctor do you suppose would be most sympathetic (both diretions) to SecUnit?

Hmm, I've only seen Nine, Ten, and Eleven, parts of Twelve, and one episode of 13, so of those.... Nine? I think Nine is the most aware of the Need For A Trauma Recovery Narrative in his own life.

Murderbot would hate Ten. Too much grandstanding and making himself a target.

Harry Potter/Figure Skating?

Someone casts the Imperius spell on whoever writes the IJS rulebook to stop making the quad worth so much, and increase the percentage of the points that go to Things Other Than Jumps. Everyone now has to do 3 step sequences and can only do 5 jumps. One of the jumps has to be a single, which is judged on amplitude and style. Delayed open single axels are worth more than a 4A.

Pair skaters get extra points if they are a match between clockwise and anticlockwise skaters, because that increases difficulty, and means we might get more mirror pairs, since I love those.

And ditto ice dancers get extra points if the woman lifts the man.
