Finally finished this piece of fanart for the story retired assets by @lele5429 !! It’s genuinely one of my favourite lu fics everyone should go read it right now !!!!! I knew I wanted to draw this as soon as I finished reading chapter 4

The colours were really beating my ass on this one (I don’t know how to draw fire lmao), I hope I did blind justice

This is extraordinary. Beyond words. Beyond all the art historical terminology I can think of. THANK YOU so much!!

I love how “Legend’s” hand closes around the bracelet as though it is the one fixed point in the composition, while the rest of the “hero”breaks into successive bodies and finally rises as Blind. The chronophotographic motion makes the transformation feel less like a single reveal of the antagonistic force than something already latent in the human disguise crumbling frame by frame.

Do not avert your gaze. You will not know what’s there when you turn back.

The nocturnal palette is simply stunning. “Legend” is almost swallowed by blue shadow, while Blind burns upward in those violent reds and oranges, like something visible only because the night around it has grown so dark. Night does not always conceal what is there; sometimes it only makes it harder to tell where one shape ends and another begins. That feels so perfectly suited to the chapter “Blind,” where Ravio can see Legend’s face and still cannot see the truth inside it as the hero struggles to tell him the painful truth.

And the bracelet…held close like proof, guilt, memory, and accusation all at once. There’s some more development around the bracelet in the opening chapter of the next act (2-1), which is already in beta’s hands!!!

I’m deeply moved by how much thought and feeling you put into this. I hope you’ve enjoyed the story so far!!

I’ve reached many creative milestones since returning to Tumblr in February 2024. It’s like a dream as I’ve gotten to know so many of you and try out different styles and subjects.

They are playing with an Italian deck of cards, which is a style that a lot of tarot decks use! In this case they’re just playing an Italian card game (let’s see if anyone recognizes it), nothing tarot related.
