It's been many years before I noticed that you created the Seymour cat meme with the watermelon from the ocean. Thank you, I still laugh about it.

thefrogman:

I initially had no idea what you were referring to.

I haven’t made cat memes for a long time. But I actually worked for Cheezburger dot com and made a bunch of cat memes for them. So all of my cat memes are a bit of a blur in my mind.

But I looked it up and found what you were referencing.

I made this 16 years ago!

It only got 500 notes on Tumblr. But at the time, that was a viral success. I’m sure it was much more popular on the Cheezburger website and Reddit.

In any case, I’m glad you enjoyed it. And I thank you for sending me down memory lane.

I don’t have much arts for Hakallur… The tragic fate of a secondary character…

Oh well. If I ever make it to Black Queen, there’ll be more of him there (although he won’t exactly be the same character as the one in Martin, so… I don’t know how I’m going to explain that. Interdimensional clone? Maybe…)

New Priority Species: Servals

Today’s upload is a species chosen by the Repository’s Patreon supporters! It’s taken quite a while to get good serval photos, but it was worth the wait.

We need to talk for a second about context, before we get to more photos.

When I visited Project Survival Cat Haven last year, they were kind enough to give me the opportunity to get a bunch of the very active photos in this drop. I got a chance to observe and photograph an enrichment session between a staff member and the cat pictured. These shots were taken safely in a professional setting using a telephoto lens, and the only person who interacted with the serval was an experienced zookeeper with decades of history with felids.

This is a test run for these types of photos on the site. Please don’t make it weird. I’m not here to encourage unsafe animal interactions or wild felids as pets.

With all of that out of the way… let’s see the photos!

Hares and rabbits are both equally beautiful creatures

Big fan of characters realizing they don’t get to die. They have to live. And grow. And be a person. And deal with shit they thought they’d never have to. And be fucked up about it. I would like more of this. Enough dying for honor or as redemption. It ain’t. You’re just a corpse. There is no moral value in dirt time.

I’ve told this story before, but one time when we were on a panel, Tim Zahn said that killing a character is always easier (because, at the very least, you literally do not have to write them anymore), so if you’re not sure you need to do it, make them live.
