My brother (17) and his friends like to play a game called “Manhunt” where several boys on foot are “hunted” by two boys in a car, whilst they share their phone locations on a timer. It’s basically a city-wide game of tag. My brother’s behavior made them add the rule that you cannot just sprint off straight into the woods (he’s a bow hunter and outdoorsman and they are city boys).

My parents consent to him playing this game. He called my mom while I was with her and said “hey if it’s cool I’m gonna have the boys over at the house to start a manhunt later” and my mom was like of course sweetie have fun.

I know they're named after him but for reasons I can't fully articulate it's hilarious that the guy who invented zeppelins was named Ferdinand von Zeppelin

Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin literally sounds like the joke name someone would make up if they didn't know the actual answer

oh you KNOW he’s got that big bushy mustache

Unstoppable Force (Dottore having the skill and resources to treat Pantalone and scold him for his poor health decisions) vs Immovable Object (Pantalone's absolute belief that Dottore can fix whatever health issue he has and therefore not changing his behaviors)

hey. listen. Zandik died not knowing if the elixir of immortality ever got completed.

he knew Feofans body stopped ageing but couldn't figure out how to stop his mind from deteriorating. was he scared the other segments wouldn't keep researching the elixir after his death? or that none of them would figure out a way to complete the elixir? that Feofan would be physically immortal but his mind would fall victim to the erosion that sooner or later even claims the gods of teyvat? that he would one day be too gone to continue to live and end up dying without being able to reach their shared goal, unable to remember anything? would he feel guilty about dooming him to that fate or would he cling to the hope that somehow it will work out?

sometimes i put dottore in the antagonist role and then get momentarily surprised when people are mad at him in the comments. like what do you mean u want him dead that's my coworker in the character whump and angst factory..... everyone say thank you dottore for being a convenient narrative device

The thing about Lord/Knight gay romance is that there’s no way you can cut it that doesn’t make the sex hotter. At a baseline, the Lord is allowing his subject to be his equal partner behind closed doors in a society defined by hierarchy their physical love a blaspheme against the laws of feudalism, but if the knight is dominant, they’re literally upending the fabric of society by having the Lord follow his Knight’s orders and that’s hot and if the Lord is dominant than it’s just another expression of his Knight’s sworn devotion to be at his lord’s service at all times and that’s hot and if it’s historically accurate Christianity then they’re not only desecrating and perverting the Knight’s vow, they’re making sinners of each other in the process and that’s HOT

as a former escape room host i highly recommend doing an escape room as a first date. its a great way to learn how ppl react under pressure and how well they collaborate with you right off the bat. also more than once ive seen people enter an escape room as a couple and exit broken up LOL its a fantastic litmus test

sorry to broadcast ur tags but this is also a valuable part of the litmus test! it seems like you learned a lot about how this person makes you feel in their social group. they didn't go out of their way to include you, and neither did their friends. therefore you can come to a pretty good conclusion about how you might feel being part of their life outside of an escape room; someone who doesnt include you or your feelings in a game is likely going to do the same in other situations

An experiment with a clear negative outcome is still a successful experiment.

thats science for ya

“Because the truth is, tech doesn’t have an image problem. It doesn’t have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What’s wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn’t successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What’s wrong is that he’s trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that’s designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn’t that you haven’t told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.”

Everyone should be aware of nitter.net

for any address to twitter you can replace the “x.com” with “nitter.net” and you will be able to browse as if you have an account. Lifesaver.

Similarly, imginn.com works for most Instagram addresses. I still haven’t found one for Facebook.

i love coming home at the end of the day and untying the ribbon around my neck that holds my head on

yeah i like to give my blessing to the most pathetic looking weak little knight at the tournament. she can’t even look me in the eye when i give her my flower and she stutters out that she’ll do her best or something of the like. i think its funny when she has to cry and beg my forgiveness and i get to say “such a shame, i suppose my hand in marriage will have to go to someone else…” and then i get to hear her whimper like a dog. ive done this like 6 times alrea-

did she just win.

I shall prepare a stew for the wedding! Extra salt!

wait wait wait stew goblin wait

get ready for the wedding

one year into the marriage
