今お聞きいただいたのは「輪郭」です。
この曲は哀しい中にも　このような感情の起伏があって、自分の中では結構ふわっとしている雰囲気で
とても気に入ってます。
You just listened to “Rinkaku”. This song has a lot of sadness, but… it also has many emotional ups and downs, for me it has a very soft/gentle mood, I like it very much.

広島は、　ツアーに行く度　街を一人で徘徊することが　よくあるんですが、　その時　リーゼントのかっこいい兄さまとよく街で遭遇するので
それがめっちゃ楽しみです。
As for Hiroshima, at the times when I go [there] for a tour, I will be wandering alone through the city very often, those times, I often encounter cool guys with ducktail hairstyle, I’m always looking forward to that.

「SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH」は、過去の自分の歌い方と今の自分の表現の仕方をあえて、ミクスしてみたら、また新しいもん出来るんじゃんかな～と思って
その辺を意識して歌は作りました。
As for “SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH”, I thought that I will be able to create something new if I mix together my current way of expression and my old way of singing. I created this song thinking about those things/circumstances.

The future is here.

Only by one song the future of the band paints itself very strongly. DIR EN GREY’s new single SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH is a work that will become their signpost for 2014. In here the determination of 5 people is united, and through the mutual recognition the strong spirit of the band that says ‘let’s improve bands potential’ is overflowing. By the going through production different than anything they did before, there is a new air around them, it is an extremely nice to listen (lit. comfortable) single. Of course, even now, their road is very steep/rugged. It might end someday, unexpectedly. But they want to go forward. They still don’t want to allow the road to end for them. For this reason band made a choice. It is contracted in their latest release.

Starting from Kyo, who just had an announcement about his new activities, through long interview with band members, we also carried out a special interview together with Kaoru and Takashi Ueda from AA=, when they had a heated discussion about bands. Starting with the new single, this special edition with DIR EN GREY on cover and as an opening feature will go down to the bottom of what DIR EN GREY has as their core/focus.

I aim to translate the parts in order they come up in the magazine, I hope I can do it all!

It is better to stop having expectations.
If someone asks why, what can you gain by it?
？What ever goes in accordance to ones expectations?
In this world with the overwhelming number of people whose expectations failed, what do they hope for?

Is there anything that goes according to ones expectations?
It’s rather the opposite.

So, what is the meaning of ‘hope/expectations’?
value has this ‘hope/expectations’ at this world where no one agrees in 100%, starting with the way of living, circumstances, personality and different ways to perceive life? I don’t understand.

However, as in hope/expectation there is a bit of ‘hope/wish’ that connects with the future, that is something much more valuable than expectations.

That’s why I steadily fix my eyes on my own way of living, without expectations, but also without casting aside efforts.
Way of living is different for each person, this strained me is alone, but surrounding circumstances don’t change.
That’s why if there is time when you suffer because of waiting, when you expect something from others, it is good to improve ones own way of living.

So rather than in way of living or intention of other people, I want to believe in my own gushing forth will/determination.


I must take and let evolve in the more profound place the meaning of the whole energy created by myself.
This is a fate in my songs, the limit per se is me.

From now on I will also continue to carry on the life of conflict without looking at the surroundings.

This is a way of living of Kyo. Once in a while through re-affirmation I am born as a new me and I am changed.

Meaning [of this] can be bit unclear, but let me say this one thing to feel satisfied.
Because simply the intention of frank people is carved for certain into my rusty/run down chest/heart.

Today I wanted honestly to express my gratitude. What can be done is good, what can’t be done doesn't matter.
As a human that is not like that, thank you for coming with me.
Let’s climb to elevated places. Let’s see together various scenes.

It was unusual and unsteady, but those are my true feelings. I would like you to take them in honestly.

Then, everyone, please do your best in various ways and keep going.

Shinya - Dr. Nemunemu no daigyakusyu



Yup, we are starting Doctor Nemunemu’s corner again. When I am writing this it is the height of summer. I thought that starting from this summer Doctor Nemunemu should improve his diet and now I am doing diet/meal management under the trainer for athletes. I was told to explain what kind of things I was usually eating and I was quite surprised that my answer was like: meat, meat, meat. I was ordered to do a special diet for 3 weeks for a start, with no food containing fat or carbohydrates whatsoever. What I could eat was chicken breast (or other low fat white meat), leafy vegetables, mushrooms, seafood and egg white, about this much. I could not eat things like rice, bread, noodles, fruits, root vegetables, beef, pork, nattou, and tofu and so on. Of course sweets and alcohol was also out of question. This is not a good diet nutrition wise, but I was told we will do that for 3 weeks and we will change my diet again after that; so I am in the middle of [those 3 weeks]. It’s been about 2 weeks now. I was not fixated on food, so basically I was alright, but what troubled me was not being able to drink Doctor Nemunemu’s beloved sweet milk tea or cocoa, or that time when I went out with everyone and the atmosphere turned cold when it was only me that ordered vegetables and water. I was also invited for a barbeque recently, but even if I go I will only eat mushrooms and prawns. Also, as I don’t really like chicken breast as a main meal, I was researching many different receipts, now I can rather eat it. Originally I wasn’t cooking much, but by the end of this period I might be aiming at [becoming] a cook. During this story, I went to a very summer like place, art aquarium, a place with a lot of gold fish. I was thinking about the ending joke for this story, but there was nothing particularly interesting, so please enjoy the photos this time.

Let me introduce you a family of Zemeckises:

Penyu


He is called “Malicious-chan” in Zemeckis House, has a gentle personality. He is 90cm height and his small body is wrapped in white cloth. Sometimes he likes playing pranks, but his pranks are always revealed as he cannot hide his laugh. He likes his favourite chocolate parfait to the point of drooling, he loves sweet things. In the pocket of his clothes there are always chocolates or sweets.

Jodoro


Family head of Zemeckises, father of Penyu. He is hiding his body behind a huge face mask which is over 2m, he is a part of family, however his figure is hard to spot in the house.

Majer
<

The mother of Zemeckises family, her lower body has a shape of human body. In Zemeckises house she is called “Mama”. She is wearing white cloth and school uniform skirt and red shoes, she is carrying 3 types of knives in her stomach. As for her hobby, she hunts humans in deep forest every night. Her expression is not changing much, when her eyes are wide with anger everyone fears her so much they cannot move.

Pirquet and Padloquet


Twin brothers of Penyu. The bigger one is older brother, Pirquet, the one with two horns is younger, Padloquet. They are always together, both love mischief. They especially like to meddle with Penyu, every time they are intimidated by Mama. They move by floating. They enjoy to take out Penyu’s plug by skilfully using long tentacles.

Raimi


In the house of Zemeckises she is called “Inugami-chan”, she is Penyu’s little sister. Raimi is very reliable person and she loves Penyu, she always tags along [where he goes]. Her duty is also to quickly replace Panyu’s taken out plug by twin brothers.

Romero


He is a ruffian bat, who is nasty to Penyu and makes a mess at Zemeckises house. His whole body is hairy all over, while flying freely in the sky he’s thinking only about how to annoy Penyu or house of Zemeckises. It is unknown where he lives or if he has a family.
