Had an interview this morning which went fantastically, and now I have a new job.
But now I have to go to my current job and tell them I'm leaving, and that I want to work only 1-2 days a week. My boss is going to be pissed... Ah well, her problem I suppose...
I may be getting a new job soon. Soon as in I'll know by Wednesday if I have to put in two weeks notice with Woolies. My boss is going to be pissed if I leave, we've had a pile of people either transfer or quit in the last month or so. Sucks to be her!! And go me for following through on what I said last post, even fixed up my resume and everything.
In other news, I have no money. Internet bill is coming on the same day as I run out of phone credit. For a short while today I thought I might have to borrow money of my Mum (Aargh!!!), but I'm not quite there yet. Means I sure as hell don't have enough money for Nine Inch Nails tickets for at least two weeks. I have a horrible sinking feeling that they will be sold out by then *fear*. We shall see.
Hopefully getting the car (but not license, again with the damn things that cost money) in the next couple of weeks. That'll be sweet. Not being able to drive it for a while will suck though.
The Norwegians left today, now the house is less crowded, but less fun too.
Even though life is being a bit difficult at me right now, I'm still rather upbeat about. Somehow I know that everything will work out one way or another.
Many things to note, firstly the weekend. A little bit of a fiasco trying to leave, first i forgot my alcohol, just as we left. No big drama. But, after driving for 20 minutes or so, Nora jokingly asked Jack if he had the key to the beach house. A quick pocket check revealed a distinct lack of key. Back we go again.
We made it there around eleven thirty, at which point card games and drink (a little too much for me *burp*) ensued. Much merriment was had.
Awoke mildly hung over and after a little lunch, headed for the beach. Jack's new kite was heaps of fun, though a little difficult at first. It's one of those speed kites with two strings. After a short swim we were back at the house for more booze and such. Went back to the beach for dinner (fish and chips) then back home again for a spot of fire twirling. Playing with the sticks is fairly easy but the poi (balls of flame on the end of strings) were rather more difficult. I set my hair on fire, it was unpleasant.
After that, Jack got the most drunk I have ever seen him, and did a bunch of stupid shit.
Sunday was mostly uneventful, a little cleaning, plenty of reading then heading home. We stopped for food at Caboolture.
Monday, work, bleh. But when I got home there were two Norwegian girls at my house. A couple of friends of Nora's who are backpacking in Asia and Australia for five months or so have stopped over in Brisbane for a week and we are putting them up. Birgit, Ingvild, Jack and I played singstar last night. I think I played a little too hard, throat still scratchy.
Been more than a week since I last saw Andrea. Too long...
Going to Coolum this weekend to celebrate Jack's 20th Birthday. I foresee much drunkenness and such. Should be good, just a small group of us staying at a holiday home (for free, yay for contacts) from Friday night till Sunday afternoon. Hoping to still find time to catch up with Andrea on Sunday, we shall see.
Got the oven today, and man was it dirty. Still figuring out installation costs.
We have had the ADSL connected here for about Ten days or so and have already managed to download 35GB of our 80GB quota. That's 43% for those of you playing at home. Nearly 5GB per day. We need to slow down. I now have hours of TV shows waiting to be watched though, so I shouldn't be bored.
Today I bought a replacement tail-light bulb for my motorcycle. One of them blew earlier this week due mostly to the intense vibrations in that part of the bike. One day it's just going to rattle (or buzz maybe) itself apart. Hopefully i won't own it at that point.
Spent the evening with Andrea (<3). Poor thing had to go home early though, not feeling so well.
Going to Melbourne with mum (her shout, go mum) some time in march/april. Going to see my two favourite cousins (Ruby and Sean) and my favourite uncle (Justin). 'Twill be good, I'm sure. Maybe I'll even have a little spending money saved up by then.
Still planning on going to Japan in November, but who knows about that, ahead planning has never really been my thing. I'm pretty sure I can save up $4000 by July of this year (especially if i get a better paying job) and that will be the critical point at which bookings and such will need to be sorted out. I may end up buying myself a new bike though, which will throw that plan out the window and across the street, into the gutter then down the pipes to the sea. I'm getting a free car off my dad's girlfriend for being awesome, so that will mean I can sell the Bandit without being forced to use public transport (*ugh*) to get around. I will have to find time to get my car license, but that shouldn't be too difficult. Might have to chuck a sickie.
I should have been in bed an hour and a half ago. Gotta get up early because dad is dropping off our new oven in the morning. Then we have to figure out how to get it installed... That should be interesting, maybe.
Thought I might try bringing this journal out of it's hibernation once again and attempt to chronicle my days.
I'm hoping this may become a way for me to remember things that have occurred, since time has been passing by so rapidly of late. It's already the middle of February, I've been at woolworths for almost 18 months, been thinking about leaving for 12... Andrea and I have been together for nearly a month now... I've been living here for over a month. February 2006 seems like just a few weeks ago and I can't remember so many things that have happened in that time. One hopes that I can change that somewhat. Who knows.
Many a month has passed since this journal was touched, time to change that.
Yesteday, I got home to find an old (80s) electric organ outside my bedroom door. "Hmmmm," thought I, "Now what could this mean?". Turns out, my Grandpa has too much stuff and not enough space in his retirement villiage shack and having four (or maybe more), had decided to sell his oldest one. He mentioned this to my Dad who took an interest, despite being low on sspace himself. So Dad brought it home and now it resides in my room, yay! It makes some strange sounds and even has a floppy disc drive for midi sounds. I've been having fun with it. It brings my total number of power sockest required to run my room to twelve. The list of devices includes my computer (3 sockets), TV+PS2 (2), alarm clock, organ, keyboard, iron, bedside lamp, stereo and mobile phone charger. I should be getting my guitar amp back from mum soon, but i'm afraid that may just blow the fuse for the house. And my array of power boards ain't lookin' so safe just now. Ah well.
Almost signed up for broadband, than had second thoughts. Now I'm questioning those second thoughts. I think the best thing to do is wait till next payday, when i can afford the setup fee while still leaving money for stuff like food, and decide then. Still, it would be nice to have in within the next couple of weeks.....
Anyways, time to go do something more productive, like service the Vespa a little and find out why the indicators don't work when the bike is idling. And get rid of the slack in those gear shift cables. And wash it. Maybe it's the battery. *shrug*
