@konstell8

it's perfect

"adventurers are actually more scared of you than you are of them"

"he's literally just doing what an adventurer is supposed to do"

"do you think they think of us as Giant Adventurers?"

"do you know how many other creatures would be infesting our cave if there were no adventurers?"

"how would you like it if you were bumbling along on your little adventurer day, and some giant dragon thing squished you for the crime of being yourself?"

"y'know, so many dragons are grossed out by them, but i think they're fascinating! Did you know some adventurers form symbiotic relationships with small monsters? Some of them even do a simplified form of spellcraft! Like, with actual magic and everything!"

"Of course they are swarming your cave, you dolt! You captured a juvenile queen and took it home with you, what did you expect!?"

one of the things I love about murderbot is that it's love of serials rarely ever does it any harm. the only instance I can think of is in the show, where they had it delete repair files in favor of serials (I remember mentions of that in the books, but nothing near as impactful). Instead, its first real use of free will (that I know of so far---mid rogue protocal no spoilers) was to watch the shows that it liked.

from that, it gained some bare bones strategy that it had never been educated on. it gained tickets around the galaxy. it gained a tool to placate passengers. it gained so much freedom... and it wasn't because of some grand master plan for its life. It was because murderbot genuinely enjoyed something and reveled in the joy. that joy brought it so much more than any calculated efforts could.

It's really inspiring to me when I'm thinking about my future and fearing all the things I don't have planned and all the things that seem so daunting. It's still okay to engage in passions. Even things that seem useless will become powerful to those who care about them. Even dumb tv shows broaden your horizons. Even time-wasting is an expression of agency

As long as it's a choice you make, it has value.

Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. If a mormon 13 year old can figure out 'don't like don't read' wattpad users can too cmon you guys i believe in you.

i think we've done a great job expanding the view of what a child's favorite animal can be. kids these days can say they love axolotls or pangolins or coelecanths and their decision is respected. maybe their parents can even find them a stuffed animal of it if they know where to look. and i think that's beautiful

Actually you SHOULD make problematic content. You SHOULD explore dark or taboo topics. You SHOULD have a space where you can cope with your traumas or explore sensitive topics in a way that doesn't hurt anyone.

Also you should make problematic content for funsies. You don't need to have had trauma or need to be coping in order to explore dark creativity. You can just be a human who wants to explore dark and taboo topics because you want to. That's completely normal, btw.

Every single person on this planet thinks about dark and taboo things. It's literally the most normal thing in the world.

Go draw the horror porn and be free.

we should all be more like david cronenberg and write fucked up stuff. For Funsies

Do employers know that employees are actually reusable if you let them rest? Like if you don't use them up completely all at once, and give them time to rest and recover before the next work day, they just kinda grow back? That's how they used to do it back in the day, you could hire five people to do five people's workload, and then keep the same five people for 40 years without issue, instead of having 2-3 people doing five people's work and have to constantly keep looking for replacements since you keep running them to the ground, completely using up like 10-20 employees per year.

We still have access to all the same technology and materials that they were using back in the day. Literally nothing requires us to operate the way things work now.

We live in a system that makes money off of your misery and ambivalence. It relies on people thinking that they are inherently bad for the planet and that the world is ending so why change? Why try? --This is untrue! We belong here, on this one beautiful green earth and we have to work together to protect it. You have the power to do more than you know. You have a role to play in your ecosystem!

we are not either above, below or separate from the natural world. we did not just appear out of nowhere completely outside of the natural order, we are the product of the natural order, just like everything else.

yes, there is a minority of humans who are destructive and violent, but just like how a couple "man-eating" sharks shouldnt make you hate the whole species, neither should the minority group of billionaires and capitalists and warmongers taint *our* entire species. keep your hate targeted at those who deserve it (those at the top, those in power doing nothing, those corrupted by greed), and keep your hope plentiful!

Min wage should be 80k salaried

Like this isn't an exaggeration. You should be able to rent alone, buy groceries, have disposable income, and still save for a vacation or whatever tf. I cannot emphasize enough how little people are being paid
