장갑도마뱀과

장갑도마뱀과(Gerrhosauridae)는 뱀목 도마뱀하목에 속하는 파충류 과이다. 아프리카 대륙과 마다가스카르섬의 토착종이다.[1] 바위 틈부터 모래 사구까지 다양한 서식지에서 산다. 여러 형태를 띠며, 일부 종은 완전히 발달한 네 다리를 갖고 있는 반면에 일부 종은 퇴화한 뒷다리만을 갖고 있다.[1] 대부분의 종이 난생 동물로 알려져 있다.[1] 또한 베어그릴스가 먹어봤는데 아주 맛나다고 한다.
