General Pace's Homophobic remarks
If you're interested, I went to this website http://www.defenselink.mil/faq/com… and posted my thoughts on General Pace's comments last night. Feel free to forward this on or go to the link and put in your own comments.
This is what I said,
"Each person has the right to their own opinion but opinions should be respected as just that, an opinion, not a fact. What gives a person in authority the right to tear down other people based on a stereotype? This behavior only perpetuates the hate and ignorance which allows all people who have alternative sexualities to be bullied and dismissed by society. I will not accept that anyone in his position should be allowed to stand up and say such discriminatory remarks and think we will just submit because he is simply saying what he was raised to believe. There are many people in America who are raised to believe very negative things against African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Women, and overweight people (along with many others). Would it be just as appropriate for him to stand up and say how immoral African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Women, and overweight people are and then to dismiss his comments as something he was raised to believe? We are attempting to teach our children tolerance for diversity so they can function sucessfully as adults with a healthy open attitude toward humanity. If their role models are making the same kind of comments we would instantly criticize a parent for making, what kind of a confusing message is this leaving our children with?
America is bitterly aware that the US government does not care about what our troops are really going through over there (turning a blind eye to the environment the workers and patients of Walter Reed have had to put up with until it became public knowledge, not fully equiping them for their duties, as well as incomplete training); you could at least edit your comments so you do not hurt the moral of the individuals serving."
Quixotic
Definition:
Caught up in the romance of noble deeds and the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without regard to practicality.
Capricious; impulsive: At worst his scruples must have been quixotic, not malicious (Louis Auchincloss).
I realized that the word 'Quixotic' perfectly discribes amanda. I'm going to carry on and bitch about her one last time, but from now on because of this new relization I shall just pity her.
So, I talked to the freak yesterday. The first time in a long time. Amanda actually called.. woo hoo!! Should I feel honored? I don't think so, she's a crack head! I think she is a phoney, prissy, sorority, crackhead, manipulative bitch. I'm so sick of her trying to change me. She won't ever accept me for who I am. The funny thing is that if she would never have been such a mess and pushed me away like she did then I wouldn't have sat around and had time to get worked up enough to realize this about her! hahahaha talk about shooting yourself if the foot!
K, I'm all done now. :)
