holy wow, havent posted in a while!

i have read many books in the last months...

i read the new Sherrilyn Kenyon book, The Dream Hunter...BIG YAWN!  I was totally disapointed, I usually love her books, but this one was so boring, so predictable, pretty much just an awful filler until her next book which I really hope will pick up again on the main story that im sure all of her readers are waiting for!

i LOVE Stephanie Rowe...her books are sooo funny...I really do reccomend them...I bought...Must Love Dragons and He loves me, he loves me hot....so much fun!

That's about it from me....I'm (very slowly) working my way through the Harry Potter series....and I mean slow...I don't even think I get through a chapter a night!  It's hard with a 5 month old : )

Date me, baby, one more time- Stephanie Rowe

I actually really liked this one.  It was funny and very light hearted.  I laughed out loud to it, and couldn't put it down.
The sex was steamy, totally made me want it right then and there.  LOL.

This is what the publisher had to say about it...
"This delightful and witty paranormal romance debut features pretzel-eating dragons, cursed mathematicians, and a guardian of the Fountain of Youth in desperate need of a date"

full moon rising- keri arthur

this holiday season i got to work at chapters where i can get advanced reading copies : )   so although this book doesnt come out for a few more weeks, i got to take it home and read it.

maybe i just dont like paranormal romance any more.  its just not doing anything for me.  or maybe all of the ones i read are too similar.  like its the same story only with different names.

so this is about Riley a half werewolf half vampire...a "dhampire".  she discovers her twin brother is missing and needs to go find him.  in the mean time she has met Quinn, a 1200 year old vamp.  (oh goodness, im so not good at explaining things...)
they find her brother and also discover that someone has been trying to clone unhumans and also mix them together to make half breeds so obviously, this cant be and that person has to be stopped.
all the while, its the week leading up to the full moon so all of the werewolves are crazy horny and need to give in to their lust of fear becoming bloodlusty and killing people/whatever they want.

about the sex:
there is a good amount of sex and its not too bad.  didnt really get my heart pounding much, but the whole time i read the book (took me about 7 hours today) my baby has been kicking my insides constantly.  soooo i guess he/she liked the sex bits very much, LOL.

i wish authors would spice things up a bit.  im dispointed and i want to read something new and more interesting than hunting down someone and having sex everywhere.

i am unsatisfied.  lol.

Breath of Magic...

...by Theresa Medeiros, is a time-travel story which starts in witch-hunting America with a young cute girl who wants to do magic, and includes modern New York, and a cynical billionaire who wants to prove and disprove the existence of it...the story was quite enjoyable, had a medium-quantity, tasteful smooch/porn factor, and was good enough that I expect to read her others, some of which I understand are based around fairytales...

a sizzling smoochie!

Penelope & Prince Charming, by Jennifer Ashley...

...this was actually quite amusing, and seemed very very very heavy on the sex-and-smooch side, and they have a lot of fun and are pretty daring in their behaviours, so don't say I didn't warn you (quick idea of sex-and-smooch ratio: pages 1-3, bondage sex with somebody whom he has no feelings for; pages 17-19, completely virginal heroine sees man and makes up fantasies; page 27, after carrying her away on a manly and robust horse, super-dishy gentleman requests nudity in public, and she thinks it's a good idea although she's pretty much fainting from his nearness, and from then on there is pretty much not a moment without something erotically entertaining to somebody). On the plus side, they get along well, and he sounds like a babe, and they are not repressed or too dull and mainstream. On the other hand, the magic is sort of stuck in there to provide the theme of 'magic', but none of it seems actually like magic, just a prophecy here and a guy who turns into a demon or whatevehaveyou there...not so disappointing, but more like a regency romance with a bit of 'supernatural' thrown in. Her scenes of fighting or violence could also use a martial arts class or two: the guy is supposed to be the target of the world's best assassins every day of his life, and yet these guys tend to express their professional skill in rather boring "and then suddenly something kind of blurry happened and she shrieked but it was over" sort of style...maybe I'm spoiled by other books where the author is a martial artist herself...

...in general, it was enjoyable, and she did try to have mature solutions to the political and mayhem aspects of the book...and the smoochy stuff seemed very genuine and naughty, and so I think readers will like that...

Shadow of the Moon- Rebecca York

I bought this book from the convinient store, lol.

Lance is a journalist/werewolf, and Savannah is an artist whos sister is in a coma.  Savanna thinks her coma has to do with a club called "the castle".    Lance and Savanna meet when she gets caught taking pictures outside of the club and he saves her (in wolf form, of course).

The club in the book is quite the place...basically its for rich people to come and play out their (erotic) fantasies.  But there is a demon-thing in the basement who feeds off of emotions and makes the clients go to far.

Stolen- Kelley Armstrong

Elena gets captured by people who are stealing supernatural beings (witches, shamans, half demons, vampires) in hope to learn how to become like them and change humanity.

Meh.  It was okay.  The first book was a lot better.  And not even because of the almost lack of sex, granted the ONE sex scene was pretty hot, lol.
It was almost like there was too many characters or something.  I'm not sure, but I don't really care to read the next 4 books now.  Maybe in the future, but not right away.

I need to read something awesome, but the library here sucks.  The romance section is litterally a shelf, and the bookstore here doesnt even have a romance section.  Good thing we're moving to Edmonton soon : )

Bitten- Kelley Armstrong

This book is narated by a woman named Elena.  She is the only female werewolf.  She became a werewolf when her fiance bit her.  She left her "Pack" to live on her own.  One day, the leader of the Pack calls her back because a group of "Mutts" (werewolves not in the Pack) are killing people and of course, the Pack doesnt want them too in fear of humans finding out about werewolves.

I wasn't expencting there to be any sex in this book, but there was : )  Just when I was getting over the fact that there wouldnt be, there was, and that made me happy : )  The sex is between two werewolves and it's pretty good, i guess.  considering i didnt think there would be any, it was good.

my husband thinks there is something wrong with me.  but i like my books to have a little passion in them ; )

i enjoyed this book, but not as much as my dark-hunter novels.

i have the next 5 or 6 in the series, i am pretty eager to read the next one which i believe is called "Stolen" and it will also be narated by Elena.

Kelley Armstrong?

Hello!  I havent forgotten about this community!  I just havent read in a while, too caught up with the new job and adjusting to summer up north!  Blackflies every where, yuck!

I just finished reading the newest Dark-Hunter novel, Dark Side of the Moon, oh boy am I every addicted to that series.

My friend works at a book store and gets books sent to her from publishers all the time and she gave me a bunch of books, they are by Kelley Armstrong, the series is called "The Otherworld" and I was wondering if anyone has read any of these books?  The first one is called Bitten.

THANKS : )
