Time present and time past Are both perhaps present in time future, And time future contained in time past. If all time is eternally present All time is unredeemable. What might have been is an abstraction Remaining a perpetual possibility Only in a world of speculation. What might have been and what has been Point to one end, which is always present.
HAL (1:10:31 AM): yeah HAL (1:10:35 AM): its sad CHRIS (1:10:42 AM): life? CHRIS (1:10:44 AM): sometimes CHRIS (1:11:00 AM): but would we appriciate the happy if we had no sad? HAL (1:11:37 AM): exactly HAL (1:11:51 AM): I couldn't have said it better myself CHRIS (1:12:52 AM): probly could have, but i could have also, however we both know each other well enough to know that neither of us has the want or motivation to do such a thing, in short we are lazy, at least on this front, or in my case on most fronts CHRIS (1:14:05 AM): that about right? HAL (1:16:02 AM): perhaps, at length, but delving more deeply into the fact that we are part of a most organic unity leads me to believe cosmic irony is at play when considering such a view on life, or at least our lives, in perspective. this lends itself to the possibility that you and i could very well be one, coexisting as two separate entities. this is merely garble though HAL (1:16:22 AM): . CHRIS (1:17:39 AM): or we could be none, as we may be but figments or a passing whim of a greater being than we could ever hope to comprehend HAL (1:17:59 AM): most likely, at that CHRIS (1:18:30 AM): i prefer to believe yours but i felt that it was important to include both probable possiblities rather than just one. HAL (1:18:56 AM): or one more of a spectrum of likely conclusions to be drawn on the subject CHRIS (1:19:01 AM): to make this conversation appear more rounded in the mind of the great one mentioned in the latter explination of life the universe and everything CHRIS (1:22:29 AM): precisely, in fact we should not have even started this conversation because in reality if we wanted to be well rounded, as you and i both always strive to be, then we would be required to mention, at least in passing, every other possiblilty and that as we both know is an endless feat, though who can define endless when time is reletive to our life span, we could safely assume that in the greater beings case however it might only take a few of his reletive minutes to comprehend that same question and indeed anwser it... CHRIS (1:24:07 AM): but yet again this is assuming that the latter of the two possiblities is correct and there is indeed a greater being... HAL (1:24:15 AM): wow, a box of grandeur CHRIS (1:24:27 AM): you know it
