You're a very wonderful girl Hermione
After seeing how abused my toothbrush is and how much toothpaste I've consumed in a day, I'm starting to completely despise the taste of vomit and gastric juices in my mouth (I know it's too much information to share). For once dear stomach, please let me eat. I know I'm desperately trying to lose weight but this isn't exactly the kind of diet I had in mind.
On the lighter side of things.
It seems that my Harry Potter IMAX Experience would have to be put on hold since long tests and proposal deadlines are once again finding their ways back to me. I guess I pretty much have an idea how I'll be spending my 7 1/2 hour break tomorrow, ass rooted in the CADs room in MVP or at some coffee shop, reading my way through various handouts, books, notes and other whathaveyous. Not that I don't mind. Tiring myself with school work has been quite fun actually.
Anywhoo, going back to Harry Potter, Vicky's entry made me realize that this year, I won't just be saying goodbye to Ateneo, but also to Hogwarts as well. Being five days away from the release of the final Harry Potter installment is actually overwhelming. As much as I want to know if Harry's really going to die, how Ron and Hermione will hook-up, if Sirius and Dumbledore are still alive, if Draco will finally quit the whimpy act or even how Bill and Fleur's wedding will go, I don't want the series to end. I've been reading through the pages of the books even before I hit the teenage years, squealed over fanfiction (Ron/Hermione ones, I must say! and Draco/Cho as I'd like to maintain a mental image of me and Draco getting together. Haha), wrote some even. Then there's my Hedwig bag which a lot of you have probably seen. I remember buying it before the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, came out. Now all HP fans have to say goodbye to seven wonderful years, but it's all going to be worth going back to again and again.
As I'd like to lessen the sadness in my heart, it's time to go about discussing the fifth movie!
SPOILERS UP AHEAD.
The Wuhoo's!
All in all, I liked to movie and enjoyed it but I guess the fact that I had already set my standards at a low point did contribute to the enjoyment. I made such judgement the moment I found out that they were taking out so much from the longest book in the series and that just didn't seem right. If I were to give it a letter grade, I'd have to say it deserves a B.
That's pretty much it for tonight. I do have to go back to studying for my History long test at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Americans are full of deceit and Aguinaldo, oh my, I have great pity towards you.
Oh, it's the 16th today..and it would have been the third.

The Wuhoo's!
- Harry Potter, my oh my have you grown, well, not so. But I would have to give props to DanRad for a splendid job portraying the Boy Who Lived. Definitely a far-cry from the kid who once asked "Voldemort chose me?" I don't know if his awkwardness while teaching was intentional, but it was a really convincing play of a student-unexpectedly-turned-teacher. The final 20 minutes of the film proved that Dan Radcliffe has what it takes to be an actor. Hopefully he won't be completely typecasted after the whole film franchise
- Ron and Hermione. the meaningful glances, the wonderful compliments. Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have a lot of chemistry indeed and I really like how their relationship is being built-up implicitly. It was good to see that this time around, the two acted more like sidekicks and were given the right treatment. Hermione wasn't as glorified as she used to be in the previous movies and it's nice to see Ron becoming more of a man now, and still being the silly little bugger that he has always been.

- Luna Lovegood. Yes, her skipping may have gone overboard, but she actually is one of the most canon characters in the film, with Ron being a close second. Evanna Lynch did a splendid job playing Looney and it was indeed enjoyable to watch her and listen to the way she talks and to what she says. She's smarter than the average girl, and much stranger, but I have no qualms because after seeing this, I've learned to love her even more. And oh,I'd love to see her and Harry get together. Hahahaha. Such wishful thinking.
- The Weasley Twins. If there are characters who never fail to disappoint me in any movie or book, it would have to be the Weasley twins. They're the people you'd like to be related with because they're just so frickin' cool. How many dropouts end up being cool, even more good-looking and uber successful in the end? And might I add that they had the most honorable, exquisite and enjoyable school exit. Oh yes, that big "W" wasn't just for Weasley..it was also for the Win.
- Sirius Black. my personal bias towards Gary Oldman plays a very strong part in my opinions about his portrayal of Sirius. Must I mention that it was really difficult to keep my eyes off the awesome tattoo on his chest. Gary Oldman rarely disappoints as he did a wonderful job playing Sirius. His great love for his godson can be seen in his eyes, the way he'd talk to Harry, the way he'd wink at him (It sounds gay but I'd MELT everytime he did so!), it's just all there!
- Implied Ginny-Harry. They're not my favorite ship, but the fact that David Yates is slowly and implicitly embedding plots from the next book in the current movie makes one anticipate the next movie even more.
- Dolores Umbridge. YOU CRAZY WOMAN! I WANTED TO B*TCH SLAP YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU POPPED UP ON SCREEN the same way that I wanted to tear the pages of my book after reading how you'd punish Harry. And with that, Imelda Staunton, I bow down to your great acting abilities and for making the color pink the scariest it has ever been.
- Kingsley Shacklebolt "Dumbledore's got style" WINNER! Best one-liner ever!
- The Order of the Phoenix. The members are just too cool for words. The moment they showed up on screen, I started crying and I didn't stop crying until the very end. I'm cheesy and that much of a fangirl.
- The whole Department of Mysteries sequence at the end. Oh my goodness. It was all beyond awe, although I expected Sirius' death to be more dramatic. Regardless of that, everything turned out great. The prophecies, the noseless Voldemort going against Dumbledore, who once again proved that age is nothing but a number.
- Lucius Malfoy. You make being a Death Eater look so good. Slytherin boys are so.. *rawr*
- Cho Chang. Actually, it's more of Katie Leung. Can I just say that you and Dan have no chemistry and I hate how you can't deliver your lines convincingly and what I hate even more is that despite the bad acting, you still get to kiss Dan. Argh. Argh. Argh. You couldn't even cry when they showed Cedric's picture. How could you?! And you didn't sound so surprised when you saw the mistletoe. And what about closing in while you and Harry kissed? Cause that gap between you two while you kind of made out was so awkward. BOO.
- Lessened Screentime of so many roles: Draco Malfoy (the love of my life), Neville Longbottom. the MARAUDERS (who I expected to see more of), young EMO!Snape, the Centaurs, Grawp, Hagrid, Trelawney and even present-day Snape. These characters deserved more screen time because their roles are somehow essential to answering the many questions posed in the movie but because the movie had to be cut so short, a lot of viewers were left guessing, especially those who didn't read the book.
- The Dursley's. More of them, please?
- ST. MUNGO'S! WHERE WAS ST. MUNGO'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Individual Struggles of Dumbledore's Army during the Department of Mysteries sequence. For those who have read the book, it has been mentioned how each member of the DA had their individual strugges in the Department of Mysteries and were greatly harmed in the end. But this movie somehow made us seem how everything was alright. They had a few scratches here and there but that was all there is to it. Not much limping, not much blood, not much backpain.
- Weasley is my King. I really would have wanted to see Ron in his Quidditch robes and hear Draco chant the "Weasley is my King" cheer.
- Kreacher and the screaming portrait. Only the latter was non-existent, but it still would've been great to see the hate towards Sirius Black and the conflict within the Order's headquarters.
- Remus Loves Tonks. Romance not manifested on-screen. Oh yeah, I am greatly disappointed. Heck, Remus didn't have much screentime!
- Bellatrix Lestrange. As much as I love Helena Bonham Carter, Bellatrix should have had more screentime and she could've been less cynical and more refined and glamorous. I was expecting her to be one of those elite bitches in modern society, but alas. She just seemed like a very deranged woman to me.
- The Prophecy. I had problems with these concerning the non-existent explanation in the movie as to why it's very essential.
All in all, I liked to movie and enjoyed it but I guess the fact that I had already set my standards at a low point did contribute to the enjoyment. I made such judgement the moment I found out that they were taking out so much from the longest book in the series and that just didn't seem right.
