For the sake of everything puffed, puffing & puffable, let us take a peep at it!

NOTE: The title of my journal is a quote from one of the literary criticisms by Edgar Allen Poe. The subtitle is from Dr. Horrible. And the Friends page title is from my own mind, inspired by the song "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt".

ALSO NOTE: I do not Friend many people on LJ because I do not have the time to read a billion journals, regardless of how interesting they are. Do not be offended if I do not Friend you back. 'Friending' is just a convention of the Live Journal and, honestly, do you think the person with 500 Friends actually reads them or even cares about them? No, it is a pretense of "friendship" which is not real friendship. You want to be my real friend (or anyone's real friend for that matter), then hang out with me, talk to me about real things, laugh, cry, and we can be there for one another in good times and bad. I do not IM or chat or text (don't own a cell phone). If you want to get a hold of me, send me an email or an LJ note.

I am myself. I am quiet and shy. When around friends who I have known for a while, I will be more vocal and open about myself. I presume that people don't want to know me or talk to me so I don't talk to them until they show some interest.

I love animals and plants and people who like animals and plants.

My favorite colors are purple, light/neon green, black, and red.

I am a Scorpio and a Boar.

I like lots of different music, but my favorite band is a-ha (and, trust me, they've done a lot more than just "Take On Me" ... a lot BETTER things though that video is still very hot! *smiles*). I also love Devo, The Aquabats, Polysics, The Doors, along with a bunch of other bands, some of which are not even published here in the US, much to my dismay!

I like honest people and those who aren't afraid to express who they are. However, I'm not too fond of people who preach about their beliefs to people who aren't interested in hearing about it or enforcing their views/beliefs upon others.

I was raised Christian, but have since broken off and have a more polytheistic view of religion/spirituality. I believe that all gods and goddesses come from the same source and should be respected equally. I believe that we should love everyone and forgive them. It is not our place to judge others, especially since we are not perfect ourselves. *smiles*

I also have a particular interest in all things old: Medieval Europe, ancient cultures from around the world (as well as those which still exist in modern times), and Japan. Old books and foreign coins/money also interest me. I have a small collection of old books. However, I try to just get books which are of interest to me. One of my favorite reading books is called The House Of A Thousand Candles which is an extremely interesting book! Sort of a murder mystery with hidden treasure. Very good!

My favorite things to do are read, write, and watch movies. I am not completely sedentary, however, and love to hike or go for walks as well.

I love sewing, especially costumes (historical or media-based). I am currently on hiatus from any further commissions until I finish the list I've accumulated at this point in time (5/09)
