Aaand back to cataloging old angst. This one came about because someone in a fanfic forum I no longer frequent complained about how there was hardly any Nina-centric fic (guess sometimes ranting does work!) It was also my first attempt at writing from a very young child’s perspective. What can I say? Self-imposed challenges are fun!

This was a personal challenge from 2006- to write in 1st person POV (I did, and still do, favor limited 3rd person) and as a character I wasn’t the most comfortable writing. Then… it ended up the first installment of a oneshot trilogy because I have no restraint.

A oneshot from 2006 that isn’t depressing angst *le gasp!* I wanted to explore a change in relationship dynamics, triggered by a significant event. I love Kenshin and Hiko’s unique relationship: it’s parental, brotherly, student/teacher, caring, and sadistic all at once. I wanted to explore how that could have happened.
