Kitteh!

God, but our cat is adorable. Patje fell dead asleep in my arms last night for a couple of hours, and when I woke up to use the bathroom, she was all freaked out when I moved and released her from under my shoulder/chest and the circle of my arm. Awww. She's doing her best to fill in for elae. Which includes having lunch with me in Niki's chair:



Anyways, gym and lab done for the day, had a light lunch since Marissa & Tasha have decided to take my Cheesecake Factory virginity from me tonight and I am determined to finish the whole thing, no matter how many people have told me their slices are enormous. Mwahaha.


Beautiful head of lettucs (post-removal of 2 pounds of field earth) and incredibly flavorful cherry tomatoes from the CSA haul.

Meet Patje (pronounced pah-tyeh), our 2 year old stray from the Animal Protective League. She was found with two kittens, is now ours, and is utterly, utterly perfect. She purred the entire car ride, immediately jumped out of her box at home, explored thoroughly, is addicted to cuddles and insists she get them at all times, is playful, eats the kibble we got her, is litterbox trained (which we discovered around one a.m., upon which we let her into the carpeted bedroom, and she spent the entire night curled between, against, or on top of us, purring happily. Wow. She is is so perfect.
Oh, the name is from schildpat, Dutch got tortoise, since she's a tortoiseshell, and it rhymes with katje (=kat).

I have lately become re-obsessed with food - in a good way. I had gotten in a slump eating the same foods over and over, due to convenience and knowing that it was safe food to maintain my weight with. Since my re-obsession, which is mainly Japanese food related, I have become excited about my meals again, and yes, I am still maintaining quite happily. I also invested in randomly adorable stuff:

Hi! Sooo it's my birthday, we ( Collapse ) and are now lazing around watching baseball. :D Awesome day so far!

In other news, Niki had her BFA on Monday as is done with art school! Commencement next Saturday, with all of her family coming to visit. Rick should also be by this month, and Monday I get a summer student from Washington as my personal slave at the lab.
