Been a fan of yours for years, and having recently downloaded McAffees' "site advisor", I was surprised to find that "comicgenisis.com" was considered unsafe.
Apparently, there is a "Trojan.Maliframe! " located at http://aiyaiyai.comicgenesis.com/ , and I'm not quite brave enough to go there to check it out for myself....been infected once, and don't need it again.
I wasn't sure if you were aware of the above, I just wanted to let you know.
I know I have a tendancy to ask for peoples' help pro bono in here and while I rarely get takers, it doesn't stop me from trying! Still, if you're the kind of person that wants money up front, you can move along. There should eventually be money, but it's not guaranteed.
Anyway, I'm in the process of developing a 2D point-and-click game and we need artwork from people. Basically that involves characters and animations, level backgrounds, items and objects, things of that nature. None of it is too complicated, I assure you.
As for the money thing, that's going to be up to the executive producer as to how he wants to handle it. We spoke today and when money starts coming in from the game or from advertisement and the like, he plans on setting a percentage aside to go back to those helping. What that percentage everyone gets, to the best of my knowledge, has yet to be decided since, well, there are a whopping 2 people on the team so far.
Stilll, if anyone happens to be interested shoot me a line back here or at the ol' Hotmail under winged_buffalo.
A call to arms! Man, phrases like that just aren't used enough anymore. Onward, posthaste!
Anyway, I'm looking for artists in a new business endeavor. I'm taking my comic, The Adventures of Kyle and Josh and expanding it into an entire site with 7 other comics. I have artists for 2 of the 8, but am severely lacking in the rest of the area. So what I need are artists for the remaining 6 comics (someone who will ink their own pencils, whether with pens or digitally) and colorists for the artists that don't do their own. Oh, and I'll be paying people as well as I'm negotiating with investors.
Info on 5 of the 6 remaining projects can be found here for interested parties and you can drop me a line at winged_buffalo at Hotmail with questions, example work, how much you want me to pay you, etcetera, and I'll get back to you.
I've been thinking of restarting my comic, only to find that my passwords no longer work since the move from Keenspace to Comicgenesis.
Does anyone know who to contact? I can't log into the forums thanks to the same issue, even though my username still exists, and of course the original email I signed up with hasn't been used in five years so I can't retrieve a password change.
I've sent an email to Tygris(AtComicGenesisDotCom), but have not received a reply. (It's only been four days though.)
Alright, kiddies! I'm making it official! You can NOW preorder your copy of The Adventures of Kyle and Josh: Book 1! (Those who haven't read the comic can click here.) Preorders will be available until Sunday, September 16th which gives you just over 2 weeks to order. Monday the 17th I'll be putting the printing order in and I'll have a better estimate on when I'll be getting them back, but I'm shooting for mid-November at the latest. I'll of course let everyone know when the copies have arrived.
The book contains 120 pages of content consisting of the first 4 issues, 4 of the filler comics I did, A 3-page comic by illustrator Steff Krus, and 12 pages of extra stuff like old character sketches and stories behind the issues.
Here's what to do!
1) Log onto Pay Pal and send $25 to winged_buffalo@hotmail.com. Make sure you put your name and shipping address in the notes field just in case.
2) Send me a check or money order for 25 bucks made out to Josh Shoberg, just make sure you mail them off with enough time to get here by September 16th. If you don't want the books going to the return address make sure you put a good address on a slip of paper (hell, write it in crayon on a napkin if you want, as long as it's legible) and slip it into the envelope. If you wanna go this route, shoot me an email to get the mailing address.
And there you have it! And it's been cross-poted to Hell so apologies for that.
While I can see my site, I can't get in to load the comics for this week. In case I can't get get my comics uploaded in time for Monday, please check the high res site at: http://hirezfox.anobviousdistracti…
It's come to my attention that someone (out in europe) is page scraping some of our comics. Comicgenesis is ad supported, if you are page scraping you are stealing bandwidth. Don't make me start banning IP's because of one person laziness.
I've identified it as either a poorly coded web robot or a very lazy programmer who ignores proper http protocol to rip comics from our sites.
