Hello, LJ! I have been instructed to post! I swear I have been reading regularly, even though I have not posted in a million years!

Yeahhhhh, you haven't missed much, LJ.

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig.

For a given value of home.

Seems really Team Auckland typical that the last things I said at the airport were "I love you all" and "I fucking hate you."

And now I'm going to eat some pizza, drink some coffee, and not be on a plane.

Hey strangecobwebs, you didn't secretly marry a lady vet and come to Maui on your honeymoon and sit right by me at a luau, did you? Because if you didn't, you have a doppelganger. (And if you did, you are mean for not talking to me D:)

Hello livejournal! I swear I have not forgotten about you - I still read my flist every day - I've just mostly forgotten how to make posts unless something awful is happening, apparently.

Nothing awful is happening today, though, unless turning 28 is awful. I have high hopes for it, actually, for a value of "high hopes" that equals "will be better than 27, aka the worst year of my life to date," or something that makes more grammatical sense but means the same thing.

Tuesday I'm heading down to Maui with my mom, sister, and brother-in-law because jfc my family needs a fucking break. They're staying ten days, but I'm ditching after a week to go spend some time in Auckland because I really miss my friends.

I'm sure I have a billion other things I should be saying, but I can't think of anything, so flist, you should do the work for me: ask me a question in the comments, if there is anything you would like to know. Or, you know, just tell me something happy, or show me your favourite picture, or tell me a story, or ask me to tell you a story (I make no promises).

tl;dr: LIVEJOURNAL I STILL EXIST the end.

All U.S. Internet Providers will be policing downloads by July 12, 2012

Please repost this? I have never begged for one of my posts to be boosted. I am just so worried for my friends and want you to know.

According to this article, dated March 15, 2012:
http://www.digitaltrends.com/webne…

"File-sharers, beware: By July 12, major US Internet service providers (ISPs) will voluntarily begin serving as copyright police for the entertainment industry, according to Cary Sherman, chief executive of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The so-called “six-strikes” plan is said to be one of the most effective anti-piracy efforts ever established in the US."

The article goes on to give details. After six notices, internet providers will decide to throttle a person's internet speed, or cut it off altogether. I don't know if they will crack down on torrents only, or if it is up to the internet provider. I get the sense it is up to the internet provider. So some people could get away with downloading non torrents, while others might get their internet service cut off. I urge you to click it and read, as we all know people who download.

No more downloading eps of your favorite shows for vidding, gifs, or fanfiction art. No more downloading screencaps possibly. I'm so sorry my friends. I don't even know if BT Guard will work to protect you, but I would google it if I were you. It is a professional service that supposedly can protect you from the invasive eyes of your internet provider.

Just, my friends, please make each other aware. Please be aware of the date JULY 12TH. Mark your calendar and double check with your internet provider by then. If you start receiving notices of downloaded activity, this is why. And your internet service could be throttled or cut off.

This post is super belated, but. I just wanted to thank, more than I can express, everyone who came to Dad's service, sent a card, made a donation, emailed me, left me an LJ comment, or spared a thought or a prayer for me and my family. I'm sorry I haven't thanked everyone individually - it gets pretty overwhelming, I cannot lie - but I feel so, so blessed to know how loved and supported I am. I couldn't possibly be luckier in my friends. Love to you all.

No more bad things are allowed to happen. I'm running on reserve levels of cope and I have no idea how long they'll hold out.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have plans with a bottle of cheap sauv blanc and an episode of Revenge.
