Today is the 100th anniversary of my mother's birth. I found I'd already posted a good selection of photos for her 87th, so do look at those if you're interested, but I've dug out a few more.
On the beach at Newquay, aged five, in 1930.

Riding a seesaw (right) with her friend Beth, probably a similar date.

On a walk, probably in the Lake District - I don't know the name of the dog! - I'm guessing early 1940s.

Sitting at the side of a road, I think also in the Lakes.

Now this one is clearly labelled! She's in the Scottish Land Army in 1943 (first from left).

Here she's with her brother, sister-in-law and mother, I think late 1940s or early 1950s.

This is from my christening in 1962; she's flanked by my godmothers, one cutting cake and one holding me.

Her 60th birthday, at the Lake Palace in Udaipur, on one of her many foreign journeys after she took early retirement.

Closer to home, on the summit of Brockbarrow, by Coniston Water; she continued to walk the fells of the Lake District into her 80s.

And here she is at Castlerigg, which was to be her final resting place, in the last few years of her life.
