In addition to yesterday's post, Famous Monsters has posted the news about G-FAN making the Chicago Tribune's Best 50 Magazines list. 

The part that amuses is that they used the G-FAN cover that has a caricture of ME on it. XD It was drawn by friend and fellow G-Fan Frank Parr, and also features Frank, Wayne, Barb, and the infamous Mike 0 , (of dino movie fame), being suprised by Godzilla. (How the hell did he sneak up on us?)

In the realm of cool things happening to people I like, G-FAN Magazine, which I'm sure some of you have heard me speak of on occassion, has made the Chicago Tribune's Top 50 Favorite Magazines  list along with some of the heavy hitters such as Rolling Stone, Esquire & Vanity Fair, and great hobby magazines such as WIRED, Gourmet, and Fine Gardening.

Once again we've gathered around the magazine racks in our minds and pulled out our favorites. We are a mixed bag of folks, and the list reflects that, ranging from the inevitability of the New Yorker to the surprise of G-Fan, a magazine for Godzilla aficionados. Creative Costumer's Convention:
The Creative Costumer’s Convention, a Polaris Event, offers costuming theme programming on both Saturday and Sunday. Topics will include SF/F, Anime and Historical costume. Special panel guest speakers will be announced when confirmed.



STEP INTO DARKNESS: A VAMPIRE EVENT
This is a theme Polaris Event featuring panels on vampire inspired topics, displays of costumes and props, and the “Victorian Vampire Reception” on Friday evening.
The “Victorian Vampire Reception” is a Vampire costume party that starts on Friday evening at 10:00 PM. Vampires from all time periods and genres are welcome, or just wear black and come and party. Don't forget vampires need victims too.
