Does anyone else have a candy that they look forward to during Halloween season? Of course, when I was a kid I looked forward to all the minis of my favorite candy during trick or treating (still do, even though I didn't trick or treat last year) but last year I discovered something I really liked when I popped it into my mouth: candy corn taffy.

It cost $4 because it wasn't on sale, but oh well. Candy corn taffy before Halloween, yeah! :D I really like how this stuff has the same color scheme as traditional candy corn. I mean, look at it:( Read more... )

Whether you hate candy corn or not, how can you hate that color combo? I'm not even too crazy for orange and yellow and I'm smiling. There's just something so seasonal about the standard candy corn color scheme.
As for the taste, it's excellent if you like a buttery taste to your taffy or candy. I wouldn't say it tastes like candy corn, but rather more like buttery popcorn. Regardless, it tastes gooood. I had to hide the bag from myself because I ate 10 in one sitting. These things are addicting. If you can find them, especially the Russell Stover's brand I snapped up, and you like candy corn even slightly, grab these!

Yummy!

This was my first ever attempt at making crepes (and eating them at that). I actually halved the recipe I used because I was told the full recipe would make 8. Now in retrospect, I should've quartered it. I like them a lot, but OMG stomachache. I really cooked 8 just from the halved recipe. Luckily I managed to get to my senses and put the ones I didn't eat yet into the fridge for breakfast tomorrow.
My mom bought Nutella on sale for me because she knew I love it. Oohhh I love Nutella. It's like crack in a jar. With three jars in the cabinet I'm hoping to at least play around with some more recipes before the summer ends. Looks like I found my new summer cooking series!
Here's the recipe I used. My main changes were adding vanilla and cinnamon, because that's how I roll.
A wild Skittles flavor appears!

(Now, if Mars (the makers of Skittles) made a bag of just the strawberry ones though I would be in red dye heaven... Can we have that please, Mars?)
