There has not been a lot to do this summer. I've been spending time with some of my Muggle friends. That gets annoying though because I can't tell them about Hogwarts or any of it. I can't blow off steam about what happened recently.

I haven't told my parents about any of it because if they knew then it's quite likely I'd never be able to go back to Hogwarts.

I've been practicing Divination techniques and some other spells but every time I do a spread all I get is doom this, the end is nigh that. It gets old after a while. Yes, I know we're not exactly sae anymore. But when have I ever exactly been safe?

I'm going to play my guitar.

I've had this journal for a while but haven't had time to really sit down and write in it.

Recent events have inspired me to at least start this journal. It's scary to think about it. We need to stick together, though. Otherwise who knows what could happen.

Maybe next year the Hat's message will actually get through to people.
