[ Well, this is a face he hasn't seen in some time. Maybe it's not the same person but there is no mistaking their appearance and even less mistaking of such a unique name. ]
Hello, Cloud. My name is Connor and I've been assigned to be your Warden this month. Is there a convenient time in the next few days when you would be available to chat in person?
[It takes him a bit, since he's still learning how to use this thing. It's different from anything he used, back home, that... he remembers. Which means he probably has, and just forgot... Anyway, he takes a deep breath, and gives this a go.]
Uh... hi, Connor. I don't have anything better to do today. [Other than trying to dodge Sephiroth, maybe?] So, anytime today is good.
[Cloud's basically trying to interact with as few people as possible... but he can be pulled aside at pretty much any point!
Of course, he will eventually be stealing rubbing alcohol from the infirmary, with the help of Sephiroth, at some point. Then... boom! Once he manages to find a way to make fire, anyway...
In any case, this is the place to tag him during any point! The above is just to have quick access to the gist of what all he's getting into.]
[Cloud's staring down his progress as though it'll solve world hunger for a nearby planet. Or, well... it's the kind of look someone else would have over that problem, in particular. With Cloud, it's obvious his mind is wandering, distracting him from making progress on the puzzle in front of him.
It's some stupid puzzle that he's completely failing to figure out the solution to. Finally, he shoves it at Sephiroth's chest, holding it there.]
Here. You give it a try.
[Cloud wants to throw it, but this stupid place and its no-violence policy. Can't risk getting shoved back into the infirmary, this close to the riot.]
[Wait what. Sephiroth had only half been paying attention to what Cloud was doing. He spent most of the time staring at nothing in particular, arms folded across his chest when suddenly he has a puzzle shoved into him.
It takes a moment as he looks down at it before finally taking hold.]
Does finishing this grant you anything?
[As in why is Cloud doing this to begin with? But fine, he'll just get to work with with solving it. He has nothing else he can do at the moment anyway.]
Zack is looking for his people. Being out of commission for so long, especially during such a bad time, both aggravates and worries him. It’s why he searches high and low for his friends once he’s awake.
That’s why, wherever Cloud is, Zack immediately runs up to him to give him a hug.
He spent all of last month working hard to line pieces up, to fill in the gaps with facts. It had required doing something he never would have considered, outside the strange series of circumstances he keeps finding himself in... But, having the facts? Maybe, he thought, it could give his frustrating mind less room to keep confusing itself.
A lot of the things Sephiroth told him were hard to accept. Still are. But... none of that's what's important, right this very second. That figure running up to him has his eyes widening, and a sting swelling within his throat.
The lack of intense pain, for now, could be due to any number of things. But he isn't thinking about it, for the moment. His own arms lift as he returns the hug, closing his eyes. He has to clench his teeth to manage a steady breath, but it doesn't do a ton for having his voice perfectly even as he mutters, "Hey..."
Just that, at first. After letting his forehead somewhat drop onto Zack's shoulder, it's followed up with him saying, even quieter, "Welcome back."
Zack wasn’t really thinking about how Cloud would or wouldn’t react to be hugged. He just saw the other man - his best friend, even if he doesn’t remember that right now - and couldn’t help himself.
Back in those days when they were both in the run, he would have given anything to get even a single response from Cloud. Just some indication that his friend was still in there somewhere. It’s why, when he feels Cloud’s arms coming up to hug him back, there’s a sharp pang in his chest. His throat closes a little, and he blinks back the sting in his eyes.
He smiles a little and gives Cloud a gentle squeeze.
I'm contacting you because we've been paired this month. Are you feeling well enough to meet in person? If so, I can bring you some soup, if you'd like.
[Oh... this brings to mind the image of Sephiroth trying so hard to contact an inmate, as a new warden. Not that he thinks he'd do much better. A for effort.]
I, uh... yeah. Soup sounds... nice, actually. Thanks. Maybe the lobby close to where I am?
[Warden devices show location, even with temporary pairings, if he recalls correctly.]
[Kirei nods, satisfied that this conversation is going... He won't say well. He's not that optimistic. But he is at least being humored, which is about all anyone can hope for with most of these temp pairings.]
That works for me. Shall I meet you there in about forty five minutes then?
[After that whole... attempt at talking, and all that became of it, Cloud's been even quieter than is normal for him. He's spending what time he can with Zack's dog, just sitting with or even playing fetch.
Today, though, he was working out in his cabin, and had just finished washing his face, with plans to hit the showers after. He frowns a little at who he sees, upon opening the door. Not because of who it is, but because of some strange, knee-jerk feeling of wishing he'd already done the showering thing, since he's still all sweaty...
... Stupid Breach with its stupid lingering impact.]
[With everything happening, and with how... much getting his memories fixed had been, he's been keeping himself busy. Being in a coma sucked, but part of him wasn't even a little surprised over it happening. Again.
He is surprised, however, by the sudden mention of a gift from Sephiroth, and he dimly wonders what even qualifies as a gift to Cloud, in this guy's mind...
Maybe... before everything they've been through most recently, he would have said he wasn't interested. But, even before sending a message, he's already heading that way. He knows there's always a chance Sephiroth is finely tuned into Cloud's location, but he'll play it off anyway:]
Looking for Sephiroth's materia -- the big black one he was threatening people with. He claims he doesn't have it anymore, I wanted to know if it was stashed with you. That kind of thing really doesn't need to be hanging around on the Barge if you ask me.

The exact location will be sent to your device here shortly. [ Since he's not sure if Cloud has become accustomed to the layout of the Barge yet? ]
See you then!
