hello! I am going to be in Florida for about a week from the 10th to the 19th I was planning on going to Wellington for the horse shows there, I know during this time Zada Enterprises is hosting a show for dressage and there will be bainbridge as well.

I wanted to know what all there is to do there, if anyone could give me advice about the shows or any information about wellington. is there anything else fun to do around there? what are some things going on at the horse show that you know of? ya know that kinda stuff, thanks for the advice and info in advance!

MARE FOR SALE OR FREE LEASE

X posted *wildly*

I have a Trakehner/TB mare for sale or POSSIBLE lease/free lease.

Her name is "Java", she's about 15.3, bay, 6 or 7 years old (have to dig out my papers).  Got her a few years ago with EVERY intention of breaking her, training her, etc etc etc but really haven't had time or opportunity.  She is broke, trail rides, w/t/c and is fine on the ground with everything but mane pulling (hates it).

A sweet, yet slightly sensitive girl, she's very smart and needs consistency we can't give her.

She'd make a GREAT H/J horse or maybe event horse.  She is not registered at this time and I am not sure if she can be.

She's green green green green green (cannot stress that enough), and basically turns, stops, walks, trots, and canters under saddle-- still learning her leads.  Java has been ridden probably 10-20 times AT MAX, and never consistently.  Soft mouthed, no vices.

Java has been free jumped (once) and went up to 3' 3" with no problem.  Tight knees, great form.

She's "older" yes, but that means she's more physically and mentally mature and READY TO WORK!

Asking 5k, but VERY motivated to sell/move her and so will consider ANY reasonable offer.

MOre info and photos at www.heritageoaksfarm.com on the "sales" page.

KK Ultra Vienna show jumping bit?

QUESTION:

Any of you used this bit or a version of it before?
I’m debating it for my 10 yr old gelding, since we use the loose ring snaffle version for dressage and jumping right now. However, whenever we get back into jumping, we’ve 1-2 weeks of ‘discussions’ over what speed and how much to listen to me. I intensely dislike having to yank to get him to pull up and slow down, I’d much rather not use my upper arm strength to get him to listen. (and as an aside, once he’s into jumping again he’s good and goes primarily from the seat, so please, no training lectures here. This is just management-of-overly-excited-horse who loves to jump a wee bit too much).

Feedback? advice? Comments on the poll pressure? How have horses reacted? Etc.

HEY! I've got a horse for sale here in Lincoln Nebraska ok so if you're looking or know someone who is looking this is the sport horse for you!
15 yr old Irish Warmblood gelding
16 hands
2nd Level Dressage
can jump at LEAST 3'6 and can go higher
chestnut with flaxen mane and tail
$6000 (neg)
he's quite a looker and he is really an exception mount. He needs some tuning up but then what horse doesn't. The only thing is that he gets a lot of pent up energy if not ridden on a regualr basis and likes to spend that pent up energy by bucking. But, that problem is completely negated if he gets regular exercise.
post to this if you're interested or send it along if you know someone else who might be interested. It would me bundles to me if you'd pass this on!
THANKS!

for those tack store junkies

dover saddlery is the most horrid company i have ever delt with.

we sent my boots to them two months ago when the zipper broke. prior to returning them we called them and they assured us that once they received the boots, a new pair would be sent. so we sent the boots off, along with a letter explaining what had happened. after about three weeks we still hadn't gotten the boots, we called them-excuse, called them again-another excuse, and again and again. my mom started emailing them and got more excuses. meanwhile, i am having to use my show boots (which is really irritating me). then yesterday my mother receives a package from dover-and wouldn't you know it, the SAME DAMN PAIR OF BOOTS THAT WE SENT IN TWO MONTHS AGO! with a letter saying we had mistakinely sent these boots back, but the funny thing was, the letter i sent them was gone.

this really ticked my mom off, and she immediately sent dover yet another email. and with no immediate response, she tracked down the boot supplier (mountain horse) and told them what was going on. and just a little while later she got and email from dover stateing how sorry they were and that they had shipped a brand new pair of boots.

next on my list is to get on dover about the paddock boots i ordered a month ago, that still haven't come in.

Hey everyone :) I'm new to this community & it seems like a really cool place to talk about horses so thought I'd introduce myself (and apologise if this turns into a novel!)

My name's Sami, I'm from Australia, I'm 22 and have been riding since before I could walk. I owned my first pony at the grand old age of 4years old and haven't looked back since. I've had several wonderful horses, several psychotic horses & will always have a big soft spot for Arabians after a special little mare that came into my life.

I'm currently the proud mum of 2 beautiful thoroughbred boys.

I have a now 15yo 16.2hh chesnut gelding called Northern Park Jansz (Jimmy to his friends) who is schooled to Advanced level dressage and used to be a 2 star eventer. Sadly, he's currently on/off lame after receiving a nasty kick to his right hock almost 2 years ago. He's my superstar and we had a lot of success coming up through the pony club ranks. I'm now too old for pony club sadly but one day I hope to get Jimmy get going again.

My other little angel is a 6yo bay gelding, 16hh called Cruise Control (Baldrick or Baldy in the paddock) and he's a green little guy off the race track. Although he's only established in the basics in flat work, he's coming ahead leaps and bounds in jumping and is confidently clearing 2'6" showjump fences.

My background in riding was originally hacking/showing and riding show ponies for other people but around the age of 15 I got rebellious and switched disciplines to showjumping & eventing. I don't miss being a showie at all!

I'm currently hoping to get Baldy going for the start of the spring showjumping season.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope to make some more like-minded horsey friends.

Take care,
Sami
xx

P.S - I will post some pictures of my boys at a later date as I don't have any pics on this computer :-)
