Thoughts about love

'The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and to be loved in return'

Love is a powerful thing, it brings people together and lets people feel good! The last 5 years of being in love with my wife of 8 months have been awesome! Having someone there every day who loves me for me is awesome! The word love is thrown about so often there is a danger that it loses its meaning and significance, we say 'Ooh, I LOVE creme egg cheesecake' then say 'I LOVE my wife' honest truth is I love my wife far more than some (although very tasty) cheesecake I knocked up in a creative half hour one day! So in a way we have to redefine love, maybe redefine is the wrong word, but making sure the significance of love is just as important now as it ever has been. The difficulty I suppose is showing love in new and different ways, sometimes, things change, people change so the way we show people we love them may also have to change, where a few years ago flowers may have been the way to show your partner you love them, now it may require something different. Its not all about the grand gestures though, the chocolates, the flowers etc... but its also about the little things, I guess more so if you're married or in a long term relationship, cooking dinner, popping down the shops for them, even just telling them how much they mean to you can show them how much they are valued in your eyes. I'd do anything for Heather, she is my world! I try to tell her that as much as I can, cos if I stop, she won't feel that anymore.

Love of course, although great, can also be one of the most painful things, I'm sure most of you reading can relate to the fact that its the people closest to you who can hurt you the most. It can break your heart when the people you love do something that really hurts you. I'm a big believer in the power of love, and I believe that in most problems love will always prevail and usually your love for that person is far bigger than any hurt that may have been caused, you just have to be willing to forgive them, let the past be the past and move on forward with that person.

I'm so very excited about where Heather and I are right now and am even more excited about the future, our relationship deepening, having kids together and growing old together, I can't imagine being on this journey with anyone else.

Love you all!

Peace

What is it with kids TV these days?!

For some reason I was thinking bout kids TV in bed this morning and how they 'really don't make them like they used to'! When I was a wee nipper we had some truly FANTASTIC shows! Captain Planet, Funny bones, the shoe people to name but a few. Now kids have things like 'number jacks' and 'pepper pig'. I remember a couple of years ago downloading about 20 theme songs from favourite tv shows, i wonder if in the future our children will be downloading themes and reminiscing over 'Dora the explorer'. To be honest, I've not actually watched alot of these new shows but from what I've seen they're kinda pants! I was truly entertained by 'biker mice from mars' and 'Bucky O'hare' Now we just have hours of drivvel on kids tv that doesn't really have a point, or does it? Is it to entertain or to educate? Bit of both one would hope, can't imagine sticking your kid infront of 'ben 10' for hours on end would do them much good. Thats why I suppose shows like 'number jacks' are good for them, but my nephew is scared by the number 4, thats not good is it?! How can you educate kids if educating them is actually scaring them? Think they've missed something there!
Anyway, i dunno what the future holds for kids TV but lets hope it gets back to the decent standards we once had as shown by the two videos below!

Hello my little noodles!

Sorry not posted for a while, but nothing worth posting has happened lately! Not really been doing much apart from working and being creative in the kitchen inventing lovely treats such as creme egg cheesecake! Got made Coffee master at work the other day which means I really need to make an effort to learn more about coffee otherwise I may have to step down and let Lawrence take my place who keeps reminding me that he knows more than I do!

Been at home (Stafford) today to see mine and heather's mums. Had a really nice lunch at my mum's with the family, was good to hang out and catch up with them, then went to Hev's mum's for dinner where a big debate erupted which was fun!

Which brings me to now, sitting on a train heading for brum on my own as wifeypoos is staying in staffs another night. When'S drunken fella just started talking to me, being me I politely endulged him, after about 10 minutes of listening to him, I feigned sleep to see if he'd get that i wasnt interested, it didnt work! He carried on!
Thankfully we arrived at new street not long after!

When I get home it'll probably be an episode of House then, bed!

Untill next time my furry friends,

Jono

Well hello

Its been a while since my last post I know, sorry about that. Nothing very interesting has really happened at all! Last week I spent 3 days house sitting for some of my wife's uni friends. It was dull days as Heather decided to leave me and go to stafford for 2 of those days. So I had nothing but DVDs and a Bearded Dragon for company. If you're unsure what a bearded dragon is then here is a picture

His name was Toby, he did nothing but sat there in his glass house looking at me. Bit of a legend!

I watched movies, LOTS of movies. The most disappointing of which was no country for old men a film that at the end made me say 'WHAT?!' out loud. I'd been wanting too see this movie for ages, and it got so much hype but in my opinion it was so not worth it!

On Tuesday night I ordered pizza, it was nice. On Wednesday night I ordered pizza, It was nice. On Thursday night my lady wife rejoined me and we ate out at Wagamama, I really enjoyed it! Had some chicken ramen or something, soup with noodles and chicken.

had an ok weekend, really did not do alot. Think we watched tv most of the day, currently working our way through the complete friends, coming to the end of season 3 which means I am having to face the inevitable fact that Emily Waltham will be coming on to my screen, I hate that character! Will just have to grin and bear it.We then watched Zack and Miri make a porno, which we thought was alright but not great.

Sunday was nice too, Had lunch with Matt and Bex, she made this gorgeous pork and cider dish followed by chocolate suflets, we then played card game phase 10 which was fun. Watched saw 5 last night, it was ok, seems that they get less gory with every film. I'd expect more gore with every movie, ah well!

That pretty much gets you up to date with my not so interesting life!

Do you know this man?...

No? Me neither! This is one of the main actors from stargate. He was in our starbucks today! Nicola got really excited "do you have any idea who that was?" I looked at her blankly "he's really famous" "famous?" I replied, "yeah, he's on stargate!" "ah, so he's really famous, IF you're a geek who watches stargate!" the conversation kinda ended then and nicola plucked up enough courage to ask him for an autograph. The rest of the shift was ok, we were just really really quiet.

Returned home to a nice meal and 4 more episodes of friends season 2.

We had a nice surprise this morning, Hev's loan came through, which is great! Should keep us going for a while. We like money, when we have it, we get on like husband and wife should, the way god intended.

Peace.

P.S struggled for a photo of the day so randomly took one on my way home.

The remnants of Christmas...

Dreams

What is it with dreams? Why the frigg do I want to dream about making someone's caramel macchiato? I don't enjoy it that much that I want to spend my nights dreaming about it! I could be anything in my dreams, a super hero, an intergalactic space traveller, a really famous actor/musician but no, I dream about me working behind the bar at starbucks! Damn my subconsciece mind!

Today and Jan 4th's picture.

Thought I'd combine the two today as they are related. We had an awesome day today with our friends from Stafford, Cat and Rach. I made an awesome chili, ala Jamie Oliver. Was probably the nicest chili I've ever made! After lunch we played guitar hero, so so much fun! We took turns in singing and playing guitar, I even did both at the same time, very well I hasten to add! Hours literally fly by when playing guitar hero, its madness! I love having mates over from Staffordland, I do miss them. Rach and Cat are off back to uni so we wont see them again for a while, which is sad!

Anyway, just a short one tonight as I must spend some quality time with the wife. Below is my picture for Jan 4th.

Having fun with friends. I like that!

Peace

Saturday

Yesterday started crap and just got better! Started with Hev falling out with me cos I let our bank account go outside o/d limit...again! Arguments are never nice, but Hev is probably the most understanding and forgiving people I know, a couple of the reasons I married her! We're fine now!

Went to work (not for fun of course) was really quiet, had some good conversation with fellow partners and yelling at from a stroppy teenager who's name shall remain annonymous. After work I went to the pub with Claire, Lawrence, Em, Ben and Soph. It was really nice! When we first moved to Birmingham I felt really lonely cos I had zero friends, now I have people here who I can call friends (hopefully they think of me as a friend too!) love it! I had to leave early, would have like to have stated later to see claire get to the point of drunkness her blog describes, but when I got home there was a meal and chocolate brownies waiting for me so I didn't mind!

Gonna go now, maybe have some breakfast!

Peace
