The Quest for a Job
Job hunting is hard, My Jobs Quest helps.
Besides tedious, it can also get tricky to keep track of where you've applied, what you said or did at an interview, what the cover letter was, et cetera. My Jobs Quest is here to help you tracking your job applications, and of all side effects that come with it.
My Jobs Quest
My Jobs Quest helps you on your quest for a job, by giving you the following tools:
- Add jobs you've applied for
- Update the status of the application
- Add interview dates and notes
- Add extra notes you need
- Add status updates to job applications
- View how your job quest has been going
- Keep track of how your quest is going
This application is built and maintained by Simon "Firesphere" Erkelens, and is entirely open source.
I know, the repository name isn't very descriptive, but everything is in there none the less. You can set up your own if you want, and I won't stop you.

Why My Jobs Quest
To give you control over what you do. Information and data is part of a good privacy stance. And finding a job, that should be just as private as you want it to be.
Suggestions? Feedback? Improvements? Bugs? Feel free to contact me.
Here is an overview of what My Jobs Quest has for you.
Your Dashboard
On your dashboard, a quick overview of your current applications is shown
Activity Board
A sort-of KanBoard is included, to easily keep an overview of all applications. Drag and drop, update statusses, and the cards will move with your application.
The colours in the headings of the card, indicate the time it has been since you last heard from the company you applied at.
Note, in this screenshot, companies are removed as it is an actual screenshot from my actual quest.
Tools to help you
You can think for yourself. No AI, No feeding in to a Large Language Model.
If you need help to improve your CV or cover letter, I would suggest you start with writing the way you write, and it works for you. Then, if you're unhappy, or feel uncomfortable, turn to asking an actual person, like a recruiter near you, or someone experienced in writing.
I do not believe an AI/LLM will improve anything, it is more likely your application will be marked as "possibly written by automated system", and therefore reject you. It's ironic, isn't it? Getting a rejection by an automated system, for using an automated system...
Keep track of your mood
Keep track of how you're feeling every day, and how your job quest makes you feel.
Keeping an eye on outcomes
Look at the outcomes, see how your applications have gone. Look at the process, in a birds-eye view, you can see where most applications might drop off.
Fully open source
This application is open sourced on GitHub. You can run you own instance of it, contribute, or re-use it as you see fit under the LGPL version 3 license.
