In Which I Ramble on Various and Sundry Topics

I've had lots of people add me to their friends list lately to follow my fan fictions, so I thought I'd do a welcome post.

Friending Policy:

Please feel free to friend me if you are interested in my fan fiction or other fandom thoughts/discussions. I normally only friend back if I know you from numerous exchanges because I barely have time to keep up with my current f-list. So don't feel bad if I don't friend back. I'm still happy to have you here.


My Fandoms:

I have written numerous fan fictions for both Harry Potter and Star Trek, as well as a few for Heroes (Volumes 1-3; I couldn't make it through volume 4), and, most recently, Parks and Recreation. My stories are generally either het romances or genfic.

I sometimes discuss but have not written fics for: The Office (US), LOST, Battlestar Galactica, the Whedon-verse, and Arrested Development. I'm sure other shows and books will join that list as time goes on.

I am not always good at tagging, but I do try. So if you want to search for my various fandom discussions, try my tags list.

Other stuff:

I generally restrict my discussions on real life stuff and my original writing projects to a select group of friends. If you are interested in becoming a member of that group, comment on my fics frequently and start conversations with me. Let me get to know you. That's when I'll add you to my f-list.

Title: Still Not That Sneaky
Fandom: Parks and Recreation
Characters/ships: Leslie/Ben; the nameless Triplets; Andy; April
Rating: M (but more the silly kind of M than the smutty kind)
Word Count: ~1,300
Summary: With three toddlers in the house, “adult alone-time” is never easy.
Notes: The deleted scene with the nameless triplets inspired me to fic – yay! I write as a voice of experience, y’all. I have 4 kids. I know how this works.

Ben slowly and carefully close the door behind him, making sure the latch made as little sound as possible when it clicked shut.

He sighed with relief and tip-toed down the hall to the master bedroom. With a  satisfied grin on his face he stepped inside and locked eyes with his wife, sitting on her side of the bed, her work tablet in hand.

“I did it,” he announced, with no small feeling of triumph welling in his chest. “The boys are finally asleep.” Thank God. It had only taken three glasses of water and thirteen goodnight stories. Why couldn’t they just conk off fast like their sister?

With a feisty gleam in her eyes, Leslie carefully placed her tablet on her nightstand and eyed him up and down. Tingles of excitement ran through Ben’s body. This was their first peaceful night together for more than week, and God did he miss their adult alone-time. (Parenting was really doing a number on his vocab—even when he wasn’t speaking out loud.)

Leslie pointed at him. “Clothes off. Now.”

“Yes ma’am,” he said, a broad grin on his face as he stripped off his t-shirt and pajama pants.

Notes: This is my Leslie's Birthday gift for Caity/shornt! I hope you like it. I had the random impulse to write fic in the form of a tv script for the first time ever, which is probably not the greatest because I'm sure I made format mistakes and you were a television major, but, uh, that's what happened. *Shrugs*. Author's Notes:When I started this story I had no idea it would become such a big part of my life or of the Leslie/Ben community. The reception is has received has truly lifted and inspired me. I know I haven't always been great at replying to comments, but as a thank you for sticking with this story for so long I solemnly swear to personally respond to each and every comment left on this final chapter—even anonymous comments.

Just for fun, here are some little factoids about "Witness Protection." When I first started writing I thought I could finish it in 10-13 chapters (ha!). I posted the first chapter on October 20, 2011. That makes this story just 1 1/2 months younger than my youngest daughter, who can now speak in complete sentences and feed herself. At approximately 184,100 words it is undoubtedly the longest single piece of fiction that I've ever written. It's been a wonderful journey. Thank you so much for sharing it with me.

Finally, I'm posting this un-beta'd just because I'm so excited to be done and to share this with you all, so forgive any errors or minor inconsistencies. Love you all!
