BSG: Lee and Roslin
Yesterday,
queenofthorns mentioned that she thought Lee was a skeptic regarding the prophecies. In my response, I agreed:
As far as Lee, I think at most he's reserving judgment on the prophecies, etc. His focus seems mainly to be on his duty to protect and serve the President and her mission. He's not motivated by belief in the mission itself, as far as I can tell, but by his determination to give Roslin every chance to fulfill the mission as she sees fit. I think Lee supports Roslin, up to the point that nothing she does conflicts with his general support of democracy or something else he holds equally as dear. It does raise the question of how far his belief in supporting democracy by supporting the President goes, though. We've seen one line he wouldn't cross for the sake of political expediency; what would he do if he truly could not believe in the President's mission, or found it in conflict with something he believes in as much as democracy? That would be a hell of a conflict for Lee. And lots of fun to watch.
That led me to thinking further about Lee’s relationship with Roslin, which I find more and more intriguing as time goes on. ( Lots on Lee and RoslinCollapse )
